Surely he's waited too long? I'm sure the limit is 6 years

Well anal sex doesn't and shouldn't result in damage if you are doing it right. Who wants to damage themselves for the sake of sex?

If and that's IF it was rape then that's a different matter.

It's not even about doing it right, you can get tears anal or vaginally or split/tears in the penis for any number of reasons. The givers too big and the receivers too tight being one.

Apparently, his injuries were more associated to being brutally fisted.... whether that is true or not, i am not sure.

ITV2 could take him for a new reality show based on that, call it Love Island Extreme.

Again...some folk are into that. Problem is when you start getting into S&M sexual encounters, it could look awful and abusive to those who don't know /can't know if it's consensual. If this Lad was into it we will never know.

Funny how it's taken him 14 years to do anything about this. Let's hope common sense prevails here.

This is very true. Personally, I'm not into the S and M side of things so I'm unable to give an informed comment.

Was going to say about the same but me I think I's money. Why has he decided 14 years later to sue. Oh no money. Never ever liked him always taking the pee out of people on his game shows.

Im glad hes suing. He was wrongly accused and ultimately it ruined his career. Its about time someone stood up to the law because they think they are perfect and always right when they arent.

The only problem I had was that fathers comments on blaming Michael. Stuart was a full grown adult and if he took the drugs on his own accord you cant blame anyone else but himself. Its not like its a under age child. Adults are responsible for their own actions.

The only issue I see (and this isn't just in regards to him) is where ever anyone's accused of something they're put in the papers before they've been found guilty. They shouldn't do that. They should wait till they've been convicted. In that sense he should be suing the papers not the police.

Was he ever charged with anything, otherwise your comment makes no sense.

And as to this "ruining" his career, that was on the skids well before Stuart Lubbock died in such strange circumstances.

He fled the scene of the crime so he fully deserved to be arrested. He also stonewalled the police for a long time by refusing to answer questions so he's got nobody else to blame but himself and I hope he loses and has to pay costs.

I dont think it was. The incident happened in 2001, Barrymore had won Most Popular Entertainment Presenter at the National Television Awards in 200. In 2001 he was nominated again
His show My Kind Of Music was still very popular upto 2001. In 2001 the very popular Drama series Bob Martin was gaining good viewing figures

He wasn't accused. He was arrested and then released without charge.

It's money 2 years ago he was helping out at a garden center

given his frankest interview yet to claim he did nothing wrong when a man died at his house - despite leaving the scene when the body was found.

Barrymore, 61, fled his home shortly after Stuart Lubbock was found floating in his pool but insists he is not guilty of murder.

Stuart, 31, died after being sexually assaulted at Barrymore’s Essex mansion in 2001.

The former Strike it Lucky star has twice been arrested on suspicion of his murder but no charges have ever been brought.

In a remarkably candid interview Barrymore also revealed:

He fell into drink and drugs to fill the periods between the highs of performing
He married former wife Cheryl to suppress his gay feelings
She miscarried twice - and he wanted to adopt kids
He came close to committing suicide
The death of Stuart effectively ended the Barrymore’s career with once plentiful TV offers drying up. He has recently been helping out at a garden centre.

He doesnt deserve to be arrested if he did nothing wrong.

How else do the police gather evidence from people at the scene of the death? Suspects such as the homeowner will be the first port of call.

Maybe if he'd have answered questions voluntarily instead of running away and refusing they would't have needed to arrest him. The only way police can find out if he did anything wrong is to question him. I'm sure if a dead body was found in your back garden or mine the police would want to talk to us.

Helping is the operative word here. Barrymore himself said I am helping a friend "I don't get paid for it. I help out because I enjoy gardening,
Last year he appeared on This Morning in a segment about peoples incomes. He was interviewed by Martin Lewis, the money expert. He had to show proof of income. His income was a pension which paid over £100k a year which surprised Lewis. Barrymore admitted he doesnt earn much now but his pension and royalties paid well. In 2004 he was filed for bankruptcy over an paid tax bill. That was settled and the bankruptcy was overturned
