You can pontificate all you like from your ivory tower but the inescapable facts are that Barrymore fled the scene and subsequently refused to answer questions on what happened that night.

If he didn't want to be arrested, he could simply have stayed put and cooperated with the police. Not really rocket science.

Exactly. One of the most heartbreaking sights of this whole sorry affair was Stuart Lubbock's father accepting money from The Sun just to get in a room with Barrymore to try and get some answers.
