Disappointed in Harry and Joel

I found last night really uncomfortable to watch – having to deal with a family member that is really seriously ill with Mental Health Issues, it upset me tremendously to see the way Harry was flippant about ‘issues’ she has. I believe she may be bipolar and am surprised that she even managed to get through the selection process for BB. The longer she stays in the house the more concerned I become for her, she clearly is not dealing with the process as well as others and for her own health/sanity, and the sanity of her fellow housemates, I believe she needs to be either evicted or removed from the house.

The housemate who initially I thought could win the show was Joel, but I also feel after last night’s show that he has let himself down. He argues a case like a true politician, nothing wrong with that I suppose, he never gives a direct answer to a question, he skates around and turns it on its head so in the end it’s him asking the question of his housemate. He also always sounds so bloody condescending whenever he is put on the spot by his fellow housemates

People with mental health issues are people to, I have them as well, being excluded because of them is not helpful.

I get the sense that a lot of people have said that to or about Harry at some point so she is using that against the people that have said to her. You're right though, it was uncomfortable to see and her eyes did look a bit "wild", shall we say.

Joel has always been like that. I think he argues very well, and makes his point in an intelligent way - the housemates are intimidated by this, that isn't Joel's fault.

I laugh at people calling Joel "condescending". He manages to keep composed and together during an argument and can actually pull up others on facts etc... even when they are getting loud and lairy.

He isn't condescending, they are just bloody thick!

and Harry is quite the complex individual, I'd rather have a female like her in the house than the greedy non-entities.

I must admit I've lost patience with Harry. I still quite like Joel but he is grating when he turns everything into a debate.

A timely reminder that it's all in the edit!

I really liked how Cristian sat with Joel and explained to him why everyone was getting upset with him

Joel uses condescension to make up for his own lack of intellect.

He isn't particularly more intelligent, he just thinks he is and promotes himself as being so, which wrongfoots people who don't have that self-regard.

After all, a high level of intelligence, as is being claimed for Joel by some, isn't necessary for the sort of arguments they're having. They're not debating the finer points of existentialism, but arguing about non-intellectual stuff in a high-pressured environment. Joel was merely trying to make Sam feel bad and himself feel good.

Exactly right.

His argument completely lacked logic.

Harry went down in estimations

Joel went up in my estimations even more, he rightly called out Sam for the sheep she is, and confronted the two faced cowards bitching about him. Fed up with all these sheep in the house, at least he can speak up for himself unlike everyone else who are too busy licking the shit out of danny's behind. Would love him to win to piss them all off.
