This was obvious during the race to nominate, though Joel said his motivations was to stop the money going down (shortly before paying £2500 for a pizza).
However after watching the 'eat your words' letter task when BB asked a housemate to remove the lid on the table, Joel and Matthew/Cristian could not be up off of their seats fast enough - BB had hardly finished the sentence.

Much as I have gone off Chloe for talking during the noms task and costing everyone nearly 90 grand, she does have a point. Harry Sam, Chloe Jack etc barly have a chance to do anything because of the selfish "me, me, me" need for the spotlight from these 3.

Joel and Matthew are by far the worst but even Danny has started doing it too. During the nomination button task Matthew looked like a goalkeeper going for the save.

Opinions?

Respect. It's a game, they want to participate...

I'd rather somebody wins because of that, than sit back coasting to a win.

Matthew? is this Cristians given name? If it is then he has clearly adopted the name Cristian so why call him by a name he is not known as, it would really pee me off if someone called me by my given name rather than my "known as" name. Its irrelevant and makes it look like you are just trying to be clever. Sorry but this has really wound me up and made me bypass any sensible comment you may have made.

When did Matthew enter the house

BB organises a competition to win £150 000

Competitors enter

Shock horror and disbelief

The competitors actually want to win

Astounding

Who'd've thunk it?

Matthew J Clarkson is the name of one of the entrants. It's the name that his family chose for him and the name he used in school and is generally known by and it's the name on the contract he has with BB.

He can't spell so when he adopted a professional name he mis-named himself Cristian.

At the beginning. He's officially so boring, not a soul knows he's there

Misspelled ?
I know someone christened Cristian

If he want to be known as Cristian then the least you can do is respect that.

What I mean is, it'd be nice if Joel let one of the others have a chance for once. We are talking about lifting a lid off a table, not winning the 150 grand here.

I'd say the three that have upped their game recently are Jack, Chloe and Harry. Of course they'd all like to win but the others seem unchanged.

The clue is in the name.

I agree about Jack and Chloe. With Harry I feel it is more she can be herself now that the person opressing her has been evicted. The moment Marc left the tits were out again. She was a little like this when she came in before Helen's nasty nomination, that's when she started going quiet.

Who called the name police?

Not always. Depends if your family want to use the way their country uses it. One of his parents is half Indian so maybe that? For example, the word for Christian in Italy is spelt 'Cristiano' so they use Cristian as a name, rarely Christian. Also I'm pretty sure the letter 'H' is not really used in Italy (maybe other places too)

Chloe didn't lose them £90k, she spoke for a couple of seconds at most. The majority of the time that the total was running down was because of Sam speaking immediately she had pressed the button instead of waiting for BB to invite her to speak.

Cristian MJC is his rap name.

I don't think we have to go along with Matthew's self-promotion.

He wants to be called Cristian. Plenty of people like to be called different names. I know of people who go by their middle names instead of their first given name. Do we refuse to call Elton John by that name as it's not his real, given name? Or Bruno Mars? Or Lady Gaga? Or Eminem? Or any other well known person who likes to go by a different name?

I don't recall Science getting this much stick. Or Ziggy. The lengths people go to to criticise Cristian used to annoy me. Now it just makes me laugh.

So. You just wanted a thread to berate Joel?

It just looked to me, like in past series' when a housemate would get called to the DR, you always had a couple who would race to get there first.

Cristian and Joel are the two youngest.

What is wrong with being competitive? I think most people entering any game or competition would want to win as there would be no point in entering if you didn't

I do hate it when posters think they are really clever and smart by doing certain things, and referring to Cristian by his real name is one of them. He is known as Cristian in Big Brother, therefore it is Cristian. Get it, got it, good.

To the point though, nothing wrong with being competitive. I think its better to be honest about it, which Danny isn't.

NO

Danny is the only desperate one.

Danny fans SMH. I see right through your threads.

You could have just told us, instead of making me listen to that!

Basically, he needed a rap name and chose Cristian MJC because he has a strong Christian faith, but took the H out to make it more cool.
