I really hope these two will feature this week. If not it must be the actresses refused because they are too sad to film scenes.

Emily should have been told privately about Deirdre.

Why? The Rovers scene was the best scene imo

In reality though - when breaking news like that (especially to an elderly person like Emily who had such a personal relationship with Deirdre) it is done one-to-one. I understand though that this is soapland and as in all soaps - the news of someone's death must be broadcast to as many people as possible!

But she's not family so why would they tell her privately?

There were times when Tracey was a child that Emily was almost like a second mother to her and she has always been close to Deirdre.

It's not just close family that is affected by someone death.
