Three pay as you go MiFI tariff

Hi folks. I'm looking to buy a Three MiFI since the broadband in my house is rubbish. However they only seem to list the price of the device, which comes with 3gb of broadband. What happens when that runs out?

Despite extensive searching I can't find the full tariff anywhere

Probably page 8, pay as you go mobile broadband addons.

You will probably find that it is a better deal to go on eBay and buy a 3GB SIM there. Maybe even consider EE instead - you get 6GB for a lower price on eBay than 3GB with 3, and you have the benefit of 4G too, if it's available. Another downside is that addons bought afterwards have a 30 day expiry, but the initial data allowance is typically 90 days

Unfortunately none of the networks have very attractive mobile broadband options. If you can do a monthly contract (even a 1 month one) it opens up better value. I think 3 have a 15GB plan.

When the initial 3GB runs out, it will just stop working. You will get a webpage pop up saying so and asking if you'd like to buy a new addon, at the prices listed in that document most likely.

You may also want to make entirely sure that there is no decent wired broadband in the area as this will be the best option.

PAYG mobile broadband is expensive, so it would probably be better to get a 30 day rolling contract especially as it sounds like you want to use it as your main broadband connection.

I don't know if the offer is still available, but EE recently had an offer for 15GB data for £15/month on a SIM Only plan.

Yeah I'd consider a 1 month sim only plan if it was cheaper but not a long term contract.

ID Mobile offer a 20GB Allowance for £20 a month on a 30 day rolling contract Data Only Sim

http://www.idmobile.co.uk/shop/plans/data-only

It uses the Three Network

That's probably about as generous as it gets, data allowance wise in that price bracket on a rolling 30 day contract.

I live in a rural area with under 1mbps ADSL speeds, so i've been using mobile broadband now for a number of years. It works well, provided you are in an area with a stable connection and consistent speeds.

Just to clarify a point above, the EE 6GB PAYG sim does have a 90 day expiry.

When did you get the retention deal, and how long were you a Three customer prior to getting the deal?

I think it was mentioned in the One Plan ending thread that Three don't give retention deals any longer.

No clarification needed, that's what I was implying - the same is true for the 3 3GB SIMs. I meant that any addons you buy once that has expired, will only last 30 days, so it makes more sense to just buy another SIM
