Just seen that Hollyoaks have announced the major storylines that are taking place to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary in October.

First up is the comfirmation of the annual autumn stunt which, this year, is set around a white water rafting accident. Kirkwood has confirmed that two characters will die as a result, surprise surprise! (Article: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s1...r-tragedy.html)

The next major storyline is is the 'spine tingling' reveal of the Gloved Hand Killer which Kirkwood has promised is not the end of the storyline - which is not totally shocking, I mean look how many killers are walking freely around the village!
(Article: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s1...-revealed.html)

Then finally, on a more light hearted note, Tony will be holding the village's first Gay Pride! This is probably going to be very cringeworthy! Anyway, article is here: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s1...sary-week.html

Outside of the show, Channel 4 will air a special Come Dine With Me to celebrate the anniversary. Is it bad that I'm actually more excited about this than anything else? 😂 Article here: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s1...niversary.html

Not much of a surprise really, a stunt was inevitable.
I'm hoping Sinead is one of the deaths, I literally cannot stand her these days.

I was a fan of Sinead, mainly because I really like Steph Davies as an actress, however, her latest storyline with Ste has made her really unlikeable, imo, which is a shame as Steph is capable of so much more.

Just realised that Hollyoaks Later s4 had a white water rafting stunt which wasn't very spectacular so how is this one going to be any better?

He says its a end of the journey for 2 of the shows biggest characters so maybe another long term character?

I assume that the 'spine tingling' reveal of the Gloved Hand Killer will be the culprit injecting a patient before the camera slowly pans up to reveal the face of the killer who then breaks the fourth wall and stares coldly at the viewers. So that's properly another death.

Also, I cannot imagine the show killing off two/three characters for their 20th after killing off seven for their 18th when the 20th is a much bigger milestone! 🙈

Will HO Later be back this year what with it being the 20th anniversary and all?! I'd love to see it play out in October on the week of the anniversary!

When is this absolute Berk getting the push? So deluded and an absolute egomaniac. If he thinks this is what people want to see for a 20th anniversary, he's even more deluded than I thought he was.

They should just do a big orgy for the anniversary. All the characters bang each other incessantly, with no protection, and all the women end up pregnant, but no one knows who any of the fathers are. No one gets syphilis though, cos they never do.

Appropriate AND never been done before!

You can have that one for free, Bryan.

Compared to last year this sounds so boring. Last year we were told we would have 3 stunts, granted the Hospital Siege was the biggest load of bull I've ever seen but the Train Crash was really good. The 18th anniversary celebrations were even better, amazing in fact.

And what do we have for the 20th? A white water rafting incident where two characters die? Oh wow. The GHK reveal? Can't wait, it's getting boring now anyway, & it's almost ventured into sick considering the person doing it likes killing characters regardless. Then after the reveal the storyline branches off somewhere else.

And as for the Pride thing, why? Hollyoaks used to be the best soap for portrayal of LGBT characters, but are we seriously supposed to celebrate pride with Ste (who isn't even gay anymore, considering he's spent years saying he is), John Paul, lusting after his cousins husband whilst she deals with the fact none of her family believe she was abused as a teenager, Kim, who is also obsessed with Grace & Esther, but due to the upcoming car crash it's almost obvious she might die, since she's a nice, normal, human character, but no, Hollyoaks can't have that can it?

These 'celebrations' feel so flat, Kirkwood really is deluded if he thinks this is good enough to celebrate such a milestone.

Knowing Kirkwood he'll save the Roscoes & kill off some good characters instead.

I'm so fed up of the endless killings off of characters.

Well it does say "two of our biggest characters" in the story. And we all know how HO revolves around the Roscoes nowadays...

Fingers crossed everyone.

Personally I think they should just blow up the whole entire village leaving only a handful of characters (pref no McQueens or Roscoes) and then just start again from stractch

Sinead may not be likable at times, but I think Stephanie Davies is one of Hollyoaks strongest on the show right now. I do not want Sinead killed off.
