It was ridiculous. That wasn't a tribute - it was an embarrassment. So stupid, it actually was a bit funny

While it's nice that Anne's family liked it, I'll make my own mind up.

Spare me the insinuations that being underwhelmed by this week's episodes somehow equates to disrespect towards Anne and her family.

I was sad about Anne when she died but this is about Deirdre and I have a right to decide for myself whether I find the episodes fitting or not.

iv just watched it on plus 1.

cheesy to the extreme
not just that the door blew open, but the howling sound which accompanied it like there was a hurricane blowing outside.

then liz goes out and it's a lovely calm day, no breeze anywhere

silly.

Though Roy did comment to Carla that the wind was picking up...

Crap. Cheesy. Painful to watch. The writers should be ashamed of the last two episodes.

I haven't watched it yet but the way you put this made me crack up as I can just imagine it! Was it supposed to be Deirdre's spirit?

It was hilarious.
It fits in nicely with Deirdre's character then doesn't it. Unintentionally hilarious sums up Ken and Deirdre for me.

It was just the wind.

Corrie is sor mad, but even they wouldn't suggest that dead people's spirits blow open pub doors.

I'd say the left it open to interpretation. If you are spiritual, believe in such things you could read it as Deardre's spirit coming in as they toasted her birthday and life. The more skeptical amongst us would just believe it was the weather and co-incidence it happened at that exact moment as set up by Roy saying that the wind was picking up.

I found it a little eye rolly myself but do see what they were trying to do with it.

They do, however, suggest that they sometimes come back to "collect" their spouse when it's their time to die (Jack and Vera).

Wasn't Ivy Tilsley's ghost sighted by a couple of characters too?

Spotted by Vera I think? I recall someone on here mentioning it.

Corrie is always the soap with the spirits. I remember Norris, Emily, Rita & a few others holding a seance in the back room of the Kabin! Jack & Vera's death episodes were so lovely & sweet, perfect endings.

I liked the doors flying open. I was half expecting Deirdre to make a grand entrance myself! I liked it because I remember the day my nan died I was at home alone & there were definitely some strange goings on that day. So it was nice to be reminded of that really.

Roy DID say the wind was picking up when he went to see Ken with Carla.

I liked the tribute.
