I wasn't referring to Chloe specifically, just anyone in general taking £5k.

I agree that Chloe is a hypocrite. Do you think that she thought her acceptance of the money wouldn't be shown in the house? Because she was very quick to bid zero when she was in full view of the other HMs.

It's an honesty thing as far as I'm concerned...... It's a game after all. Accept that other contestants may want to walk away with something as you do yourself and if you haven't judged them unfairly then hopefully they won't judge you either but if you're screaming at someone for taking money out of the prize fund and at the first chance you grab a chunk of it then it's not going to look good is it?!

Though to be fair there's a difference between taking real money for yourself and throwing money away that isn't yours. If BB had given everybody £5k and asked them to take the £100 out of that then that would be fair enough. And Joel could have spent half his own money on a Pizza if he wanted to. Or Nick could have spent £2k of his to get to the final ..... I wonder if he would have?

In OR out of BB, 5k is 5k.

Kindness and consideration for others is priceless

Up to this task they havent been personally offered the money have they? Its been win it for the pot or nothing hasnt it?

If thats the case its a slightly different dilema to face. 5k for me or 5k for the eventual winner. Rather than 5k for the winner or nothing.

If you use the rational the winner is getting 70k or more, then sod it, they wouldnt begrudge me having it, as I wouldnt begrudge them, either winning it all or taking 5k themselves.

5k is a small chunk of the total prize money, if you won the show you probably wouldn't begrudge a few other HMs having a sliver of the money pie after how much money you get.

Harry's comment was also harsh. M

It's £5k! It will clear their debts & give them a treat. The winner will still get 16 times that so they all need to get over themselves.”

But the prize fund was £150000 that's what was on offer to them.
Now reportedly the producers have used up all the cash, hence this cash bomb thing. I suppose they over spent on the legends, then kept Helen and Nikki in for an extra week. They really have messed up this year.

Totally agreed, but Chloe has been THE most nit picking and vocal all week about anybody who took from the fund. She has used the word 'team' (b0llox!) so many times and then turns round and does the exact same thing she has berated everybody else for. her hypocrisy is outstanding!

Of course, looking at it from another angle, she obviously doesn't think she's going to win (as some people have been convinced she does), or else she'd have turned down the money

Yes, but you'd still be a massive hypocrite for taking it after slagging everyone else off all week and going on about their "true colours".

Nick believed 100% that she would have added it to the prize fund. That's because of what she's been saying all week. And she's too stupid to understand that.

It's not about the money. Nobody begrudges her the money - it's about the hypocricy.
Nobodies had a go at Sam, have they? That's because she hasn't spent all week moralising about what should happen to the prize fund.

That was the point of me making the thread. People were saying they thought it was "stealing" the winners money. greedy, selfish, immoral etc.

Exactly why shouldn't they have a small share of the money.

Share the wealth I say.

i think they all should have taken it. I understand Joel feeling guilty about the pizza but he should have taken it anyway.

It's a win win situation, if they lose they have 5k, if they win they win and have 5k.

And for all of Chloe's preaching, I still think she was right to take it.

This task is designed to bring out greed and weakness and it has worked here.”

AND.....did Jack take the £5k?

But neither Jack or Sam have spent all week preaching at and calling anybody who spent any money greedy and selfish like Chloe has.

Not sure what you mean? My post says the task was designed to bring out greed and weakness in the HMs, so of course that applies to Jack too.

I doubt any of them have a problem in that respect. Sam and Jack don't seem to be getting flak for their decisions. Chloe is getting it in the neck because she has been advocating all week that the fund is sacrosanct and criticising all and sundry (especially Jack) for not playing the game by her rules.
