Signing up for EE SIM only

Their online form looked easy and I filled it in but a week later still not finished - now they want my old address details and evidence. That was 12 years ago! I have already given them all my personal info and they have done a credit check and still not enough. I'm in full time employ and have money in the bank but still not good enough.

Is going instore for SIM only easier and with less questions and delays?

I can really see why PAYG is looking a better deal as you will be connected without the phone calls and personal data collecting.

I was planning on getting an EE SIM only deal ahead of being kicked off the 3 One Plan and I'm really glad I did this early so my service has not been disrupted.

I also found that SIM cards are sent out second class so more delays there!

Not the best experince so far - they have all my details and I have diddly squat.

Please tell me instore is better!

Actually no thats wrong, completely wrong. Online credit check applications use several sources to ascertain whether the identity in question is accurate and legal. Instore its a lot simipler, one of ithem is a system supplied by Equifax, it looks at information from the applicants credit report and asks a series of questions. Or they can do it using a debit card, or better yet go back to the old fashioned way of using Passport or Drivers Licence. Its actually easier in store as the person is there....in person go figure!

A few months back I did an EE one month deal, the online experience was a nightmare so I went into a store and it was all done within 10 minutes including porting. Have now left as the overall experience with EE was poor although the 4g network seems good.

I agree about the online experience. It looks like it will be easy but most all of the information I had filled in had 'gone missing' when I was asked to call - including the price plan which was the first thing I selected. Where had all my information gone?

I have been asked to call three times now - each message to call has 'once we receive this information, we will get your order moving' in it. Moving backwards maybe. Last call today and then that's it - I'll stick with Three if they have more questions.

Now cancelled. I was told that there were more checks needed and more phone calls to expect (that don't get made). There was no end in sight or any sign of a SIM. The advisor was grateful that I cancelled as getting a contract is a very hard and long process even if all documents are filled in to the letter.
