Please can anyone tell me want I could use to make my Television NTSC compatible (if anything) ?

My Television I think is about 3-4 years old and I'm not sure if that is to old for it to already be compatible or not. I would like to know before I buy a muli-region DVD player.

Either the TV's NTSC compatible or it isn't (take it you've tried the manual) but at that age chances are it is (unless it's very small and portable and cheap and has no scart sockets). There are region 2 and 0 NTSC DVDs out there you can test with, and anyway, your new DVD player might offer a PAL-60 conversion in an emergency.

No i haven't checked the manual, since it's either lost somewhere or it's been thrown out. The TV was quite cheap but it's quite big, not portable, and it has scart sockets. So I might take a chance and buy the multi-region DVD player and see if it works with it, it you think it should be ok. Thanks for your help

Katalin, every TV I have used in the last 16 years has been 60Hz compatible. A small number of TVs don't support NTSC colour decoding, but this can easily be solved by changing the DVD player's display setting from composite (or CVBS) to RGB (RGB gives the best picture quality on both PAL and NTSC discs).

You really have little to lose, just suck it and see, if your TV isn't compatible then it won't play NTSC DVD's but then again if you buy a non region free DVD player that won't play NTSC DVD's either. 99% that it will work...take a leap of faith.
