Are we really seeing nothing more from Ryan?

Weeks Whitney was talking to Ryan on Facebook/IM, Whitney finally is actively involved in her nieces life now and for a split second we saw Ryan watching his daughter from the park. Is that really it? What was the point? Really?

I love that characters come back for brief appearances or episodes, but he had NO interaction with anyone. What was the point if it lead to nothing? He was better "on the run" than knowing he's near by enough to see his daughter and sister but hasn't.

His "return" was a bit ridiculous like, I mean not even speaking a single word and appearing on screen for 5 seconds was a waste of time.

I think it's safe to say that Neil McDermott will NOT be returning as Ryan Malloy anytime soon, re-appearing onscreen on 2 Sept 2014 and not be seen since.

I sincerely hope so. Dreadful character.

It does look like it. Maybe with the new direction Whitney is going in (stronger woman character) and Stacey getting involved in Kush/Martin, then Eastenders may thought it would be best to leave Ryan for now.

I never thought his appearance was leading to anything further - it always seemed like it was just a reminder that there is a wider world outside Walford and characters don't disappear forever or have to cut all ties to their families once they've left.

I think that's one of the things DTC has highlighted really successfully. Now if we could just get the odd 'it was nice seeing Johnny this last weekend - he's looking really tan' or 'Bianca was still a whiny big mouthed cow when she was back last night' type mentions where it's alluded that characters have been back offscreen, it'd be perfect.

I couldn't stand him. If his return has been dropped I'm glad. Let's not forget he's on the run for murder. Perhaps it's best to take his brief cameo as an indicator he accepts he can't be in Lily's life and she's better off without him. As is the show.

I'm not bothered, I was never that interested in Ryan and personally don't feel Stacey or Whitney need him right now.
