Bryan Kirkwood and his fascination with death.
2 more will die from the GHK
2 will die white water rafting a body hidden in a wall and perhaps a death from this up coming car crash. As so many have pointed out before when you have this much death it loses the punch the death of a character usually has. And i'm speaking as someone who didn't mind 3 or 4 people dying each 12 months, though staggered throughout the year. I didn't even mind the annual culling of some deadwood character each year as long as the stunt and the story was alright, like in Enjoy The Ride for example. But this is just too much, it's overkill. Pun intended. What is with fascination with death? |

Bad childhood?
He also has an obsession with kidnappings? His fetish maybe? |

One of the white water victims might fall prey to the GHK, but that's still at least three deaths coming up, plus Patrick so that's four, and more to come if anyone dies in the car crash/if the white water rafting and GHK deaths are all separate.
I guess the reason is the same as his obsession with pregnancies and affairs: cheap drama for drama's sake! |

I don't even think it's a fascination. It's laziness and boredom. "I'm bored of this character I can't even be bothered to build up an exit story for them - I'll kill them" "It's October soon best kill a bunch of people - let's see, who don't I want to sleep with? I'll kill them!"
I've axed about 16 people on the HO I've done in the games forum and managed to only kill two of them 9 months apart. |

TPTB should really have a storyline about a British civil war or something, then they could kill all the characters. Surely that'd make them happy since they love death so much.

Its just lazy, boring and repetitive writing. He doesnt seem to have the capability of creating interesting stories for characters. They change personality at the whim of the writers and they constantly use killing off a character in lieu of writing proper exits or endings to storylines. The show has become a joke under Berkwood. Why bother investing in a show that doesnt give two tosses about its viewers?

I just do not get it at all, if i was controller at Channel 4 i would be SEETHING at whats happened to this show. Even aside from the ratings tumbling, just the quality in general. I do not think Kirkwood has done ANY good for this show since he returned not a single bit. The warning signs were there after Texas death for me, from then on it just snowballed into this utter bizarre mess of death, disaster and weirdness (see Sienna having a child with her brother.... without even knowing it) Its all absolutely laughable. I finally stopped watching as a proper viewer last year, and would now class myself as a casual viewer, sometimes its enjoyable enough, but i am usually left thinking WTF by the end of the episode. I think there needs to be a first for a soap, i think the show needs REBOOTING back to 2012. A kind of JR in the shower moment from Dallas ![]() But it will be Ste waking up from a coma after a suicide attempt when Brendan got sent down. |

I'm also annoyed that the upcoming deaths are announced like it's some sort of treat for the viewers. You would think they would recognise overkill & how many viewers are unhappy about so many deaths!

It's like they think the only way to get drama and entertainment is to kill someone.

He's an absolute idiot. He thinks death and kidnappings = good quality drama. He's that wrapped up in his own ego from the praise he got in 2006-2009, he thinks he can dish what ever s**t that comes into his tiny brain and pass it off as 'drama'.

To many deaths, kidnappings, gangsters, weddings, pregnancy's, frameing people, sending the wrong people to jail and letting the bad guys go on doing bad things.
