True. I think the T.Rex song that's become a classic in modern times is Children of the Revolution, which has the genius lyric "I drive a Rolls Royce/ 'Cos it's good for my voice". It's just nonsense. But they were considered important at the time and John Peel adored Bolan.

Yes, you had to be there. Metal Guru is a song about a forgotten 'God', a little more metaphorical than you may first think? 'Get It On' compares a girl to a car, not that original but then Bolan refers to Chuck Berry's 'Little queenie' on the fade.
The llalalala song is 'Hot Love' and it is just that for singing along to. Bolan had a very personal way of expressing himself but some people just don't get the little rock elf?

No he didn't; he thought Get It On was atrocious and he never played any T Rex records after that point. It was the Tyrannosaurus Rex stuff that he liked the most, culminating in the classic, Beard Of Stars.

I agree with you about the ones in bold. People think True and Gold are Spandau Ballet's only hits which makes them seem like a cheesy band
I really don't think Vienna is overplayed and it is an excellent song
