It is syrupy and ridiculously hypocritical. Lennon was full of clichés throughout the seventies, but managed to make a few good songs out of them. This isn't one. Twee, wooly and fluffy, it symbolises all that was wrong about the man.
I say stick on Mind Games instead!!

I'm on fire by Bruce Springsteen, a pointless song.”

How can that Adele song be a classic? Unless you have the album has anyone even heard it? I haven't.

Primal Scream's - 'Rocks'

derivative as ****, sub Rolling Stones shite.

Deacon Blue - Dignity

The Proclaimers - 500 miles - I might be Scottish but I absolutely hate that song.

It's been played to death, though. I'd rather listen to "Instant Karma!" or "(Just Like) Starting Over" anyday.

Also, I know a lot of people love the Doors' music, but I don't care for "Light
My Fire" - I prefer the José Feliciano version.

I love greenday as I've mentioned before but another overrated song is Basket Case . I much prefer Minority , when I come around and Waiting from that era .

As Marshall says in HIMYM, are they singing it to the same girl or each other? Either way its weird and an awful song

Tracy Chapman - Fast Car. Anyone else find this song very boring as it goes on for too long?

Totally agree, original is fantastic then Wet Tit Wank came along and destroyed it, REM did a good version of it though

One of my Dad's and brother favourite songs is Wichita Lineman by Glenn Campbell

I simply don't get it, find it totally bland

she also stole the guitar riff from Jack and Diane by John Cougar Mellencamp (though that is also pretty over-rated)

Who cares if it's pretentious? I love it!

I love the Richard Harris version anyway . I detest the Donna Summer version .

Which reminds me:-

All Donna Summer's so-called classics. I loathe Disco.

Has anyone said "Come On Eileen" yet?

I Feel Love and Love's Unkind are fantastic tracks

Even This Time I Know Its For real was good (one of the few Stock Aitken and Waterman I genuinely like)

I always found it boring bordering on irritating. In fact, I did a paper list of my top 40 least favourite songs of the 80s, and I think Fast Car was included there.

Another classic NOT is Coldplay with Speed of Sound. Part of the reason it is called a classic is because it was held off the no 1 slot by Crazy Frog.

Anything by ABBA (mainly because they are overrated and s**t)
Bridge over troubled water, Sound of Silence - Simon and Garfunkel
Call Me Al - Paul Simon
Anything by Status Quo
Anything by Coldplay
Angels - Robbie Williams
Anything by Take That
Anything by bloddy Coldplay
Tainted Love - Soft Cell
Tina Turner - Simply The Best and her rubbish cover of Proud Mary by Creddence Clearwater Revival (which is a brilliant original by the way) mainly because anytime I'm on a night out it's always played everyone thinks it's the original and call it the wrong name (Rolling on a river)
Bon Jovi - Living on a Prayer

I could go on but that's just a few
Hound of Love
26-07-2015
Coldplay - Fix You (and pretty much everything else from them)

Pogues/Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York
barbeler

Anything by Fine Young Cannibals
Anything by The Style Council
Fog On The Tyne by Lindisfarne
Sit Down by James
Sex On Fire by whoever it is

She Works Hard For The Money is great too, so Donna deserves her "classic" status
