I thought the OP maybe meant 'Dance The Night Away' by The Mavericks? I haven't heard it in years, but back when it was a big hit, late 90's I think, it was played to death on the radio and the video was on very heavy rotation on the likes of MTV, (back when they actually used to play music videos of course!).

thats poetry compared to t rex's 'new york city' have you ever seen a woman coming out of new york city with a FROG in her hand WTF? I'll go with "When a man loves a Woman" - Percy Faith Massive Beatles fan but I'd rather listen to any Beatles song, or even the "Frog Chorus", than the overplayed and overrated "Imagine" |

"Imagine" - sentimental tosh, badly performed and recorded.

I would happily get through the rest of my life without ever having to listen to Every Breath You Take by the Police again

I hate, hate, hate Bohemian Rhapsody. Don't see the appeal at all. I do think my strong feelings against it are mostly triggered by the praise it gets though, because I just don't get it!

I like the Bangles, always have done, probably always will.
HOWEVER... Walk Like an Egyptian is one of the absolute worst pieces of dreck ever recorded anywhere, at any time, by anyone. Everything about it just provokes nausea - the stupid shuffling intro, the 'BOING!' gong sounds, the whistling solo, the 'OH WHEY OH!'... ah God, it's dire. I'm not even sure why the girls recorded it, it sticks out like a sore thumb among the rest of their recorded output which is mostly slick, sixties-influenced guitar pop (latterly rock) with great vocal harmonies and catchy tunes. Maybe it was forced on them by the record company, I dunno. I know it's hugely popular, and in many ways it's their signature track, but I really, really hate that song. My antipathy toward it was increased tenfold when I got to see the Bangles play live at Shepherd's Bush Empire about fifteen years ago. It was mostly a great show with a buzzing atmosphere and a nicely eclectic set-list, but I knew only too well what was coming... at some point I'd have to endure THAT song. What I hadn't anticipated was that, when it came, just about everyone in the stalls went absolutely mental - within a split-second of the first 'BOING!', people were on their feet, hands, elbows and knees going everywhere and it got really violent in no time at all. I made a quick exit for the gangway and watched them get on with it. It seems that in every band or performer's repertoire, there's one song that acts as a dog whistle to a certain faction in their fanbase, and when that whistle sounds, it's their cue to go berserk / start wrecking the place / 'express themselves'. |

Imagine - John Lennon
Angels - Robbie Williams Love You A Little Bit More - Dr Hook Radio Ga Ga - Queen Hey Jude - Beatles Suspicious Minds - Elvis Presley (it's the 'caught in a trap' bit that goes on forever at the end that I don't like) I've Had The Time of My Life - Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes You Can Leave Your Hat On - Joe Cocker (I think it's him) A Little Help From My Friends - Beatles - also Joe Cocker sang it too - don't like either version Rockin' All Over The World - Status Quo Anything by Duran Duran - like Girls on Film or The Living Daylights or Hungry Like The Wolf Hi-Ho Silver Lining - don't know who sings it but it's always played at weddings |

The Who's My Generation and Substitute are over-rated. Others of their songs such as I Can't Explain, Magic Bus, Who Are You? and You Better You Bet are good though.

I can't understand why Against All Odds is so popular. It's a dull song even though I like Phil Collins
