Kate Ford - CS.
So,
I've never been a huge fan of her, actually made it known on here at times but I am shocked to admit I think shes been brilliant this week and during the second episode tonight she was just aces. I may be in the minority with this opinion but well done Kate. You did good.

She has done the unthinkable - actually making me feel so sorry for Tracy!!
![]() But really, that scene tonight reading Deirdre's letter was easily one of the best Corrie scenes since Roy & Hayley dancing in Blackpool. I felt so moved by it. |

I agree. She has done a great job so far of conveying Tracy's grief and devastation upon hearing of Deirdre's death. Her reading Deirdre's letter from the Quality Street tin was a very emotional moment and proved to be the standout scene this week.

I'm sure though Kate was crying for real which really helped a lot IMO.

Kate has done a fantastic job but I seem to be in the minority on here who thinks she's good anyway.

I wouldn't go as far as brilliant but she's certainly been a lot better.

I like Tracy and think there are a lot worse actors than her on the show. I think she has done so well this week because she's probably feeling the emotion from mourning Anne Kirkbride, and this has probably helped/influenced her performance.

There have been other times where she has stood out such as her last scene in prison in 2007 as she looked at Amy's photo, her emotional heart-to-hearts to Rob on the phone when he was on the run etc. Whilst she not in the same category as Alison King, Jane Danson and Paula Lane, she's much better than the likes of Jimmi Harkishin, Antony Cotton and Jennie McAlpine.

Whilst I don't like some of things Tracy does, I really like her character & enjoy watching Tracy. She does have some standout performances at times, tonight's episode was definitely one of them. |

I entirely agree.
I think there is a very big difference between Kate Ford's past performances and the way she is portraying Tracy's grief. She has been brilliant this week. |

She was brilliant tonight. I agree that much of the Corrie actors' grief was real. I think Kate Ford has improved lately. She used to annoy me but now I like her a lot.

I think Kate does real much better than the panto drama she normally has. Whenever we see Tracy show real emotion it is brilliant, although maybe that's because of the contrast. It was a completely different Tracy today, because for once she wasn't selfish at all, all her thoughts were for what Deirdre would want, not just the funeral plans but the way she treated Ken, Bev, Billy and Emily.
Also, she just reminded me a lot of Dawn Acton tonight, which I don't think is because I was seeing another actress in Kate, but I think I felt I was watching Tracy Barlow, it wasn't just someone playing a character, it was Tracy Barlow the person. |

I haven't been blown away by Kate Ford's performance this week (or anyone's for that matter), but she gets far too much stick here. Compared to certain others!!
She might not be in the same league as your Kings and Dansons, but Ford has her moments. The two hander with Deirdre, where she fessed up was extraordinary. Doesn't help that the writers portray her as some gobby bitch. But then again it's a quality I like about Tracyluv. She's tells it like it is. As I've said before, Tracy's best when she shares scenes with Amy and the Barlows. |

I think she's been fantastic this week, she had me welling up when she was reading Deirdre's funeral wishes.
Kate has acted out every other Barlow or Deirdre's close friends this week and the only one for me who has shown real emotion IMO and made me feel sad for Deirdre's death. I hate it how Kate gets so much stick on here, most of the stuff she has been given prior to Blackburn's regime was 2 dimensional villain type stuff. The stuff Blackburn has given Tracy has really proved what a good actress Kate is, she is much better at emotional scenes than being a villain. |

I can't comment on Ms Ford. I do know that I loath Tracy Barlow.

I think Kate Ford is a good actress..I have always liked Tracyluv from the very beginning and surprised at the stick she receives on here though I'm not sure if it's for the character or the actress....I think she plays a good villain and when you see the softer side of her she plays it equally aswell.

I know corrie are gonna use the death of Dierdre to change the character of Tracey. I suppose if there was ever a time do it, it could only be now. Be interesting to see how far they go in the transformation. Would be good to see how Kate handles a new side to Tracey.

There's probably nobody more vocal in their hatred of Tracy Barlow, her one dimensional character & her actions than I am, but at no stage have I ever suggested Kate Ford wasn't very good at playing the role!!
My problem is entirely wth Tracy the character which is why, even though KF is doing a good job of portraying her grief I still feel no sense of pity towards her whatsoever!! You just know if this was happening to another character she would be there with her snarky, inappropriate comments mocking their grief, as she did with Claire after Ashley was killed, & more recently with Tina over her Dad's death!! When a character sinks to those depths there is no redemption for said character imo!! So yes I feel for Kate Ford because her personal grief is showing itself in some great acting but sadly because of past events it isn't working convincingly enough to undo everything that's gone before & actually make me feel anything but that the bitch in her is just below the surface, as was proved with Carla & Roy the other night!! |
