I just don't understand why Kyle would be rescued by Cain unless they are setting up a storyline for him to get custody OR for Joanie to die (please god!)

I don't like young children but if one was in danger I would try to help him/her if I could as they rely on adults. So just because Cain went in to save him doesn't mean that he loves him.

Why would he? He's barely met him and doesn't know him at all.

I think Cain's trying to not form a bond with Kyle but rescuing him might help to break down those barrier. It won't be instant but its a start. He acknowledged Kyle as his son

I do agree though that ANYONE, parent or not, would help a kid in need but would we rush in and refuse to come out when the fire brigade were on site? Unless it was someone I cared about I for one would leave it to the experts
