Ronnie had always been a tragic heroine and we all know Ronnie always wanted to have a baby of her own. But I cannot believe we haven't seen Ronnie and Matthew together. We have seen Ronnie holding Matthew a few times but I want to see more of Ronnie and Matthew together. I hate this Ronnie/Roxy/Charlie storyline.

Ronnie and Charlie have been absent for a month now so why are they offscreen for ages?

It's really bad form, Ronnie's been back since the end of 2013, she was barely in it for most of 2014 and the same goes for 2015 she was in a coma for about 4 months, wtf is going on, is SW on some kind of contract that allows her so much leave, if they can't have her back full time then what is the point, when we can't get any decent storytelling from the character, I think this what is annoying most, we have all theses decent characters and we're lucky to see them half of them, I know she been filming recently but if it anything major who knows.

It's a shame we haven't seen more of them being a family, especially her with Matthew. I suppose it was always going to be difficult as she was still struggling to help herself and look after herself so at that moment it was unlikely we would get the baby scenes. As soon as it looked like things were looking up for Ronnie and Charlie, and with Roxy getting with Dean we have another break because of MP filming. That's been a few weeks now that they have been gone, longer than I thought it would be actually as they aren't in cast lists up until at least the 21st july

Stupid characters Dissappear again.

Rumour has it Samantha and the actor playing Matthew don't get on behind the scenes, and refuse to work with eachother. It's a right mess for TPTB to sort out.

Im guessing Sam Womack is off filming MOunt Pleasant again which would explain Ronnies absense - as for Charlie - who knows

That's what I was thinking too. I wish she would just commit to one or the other. Short breaks once a year for panto or taking a year out to do other things like Jake is doing are OK but these constant breaks every few months are really annoying

In the real world people with disabilities have to find ways to care for their babies, it would've been nice to see Ronnie figuring out how to care for Matthew while she recovered, but nope, she just turns into the invisible woman. She'll probably be fully recovered by the time we see her again!

Ronnie needs writing out. Sensational storylines have ruined the character.

I don't think Samantha Womack is fully committed to the show. She shouldn't be allowed any more breaks. If she wants to do other projects, then she should leave EE. I'm sick of Ronnie leaving every few months.

It's hard to keep up with where hers and Charlie's story is at any point, but they are in it next week.

Samantha Womack has recently tweeted that she was filming Mount Pleasant for one week. She said she hasn't been on EastEnders for a while because of "storylines". Ronnie is not leading lady anymore which is a shame. I think we have too many cast members and the EastEnders team are trying to use all of their characters properly.

I don't think it's the case they have too many characters it's the case that they don't uterlise them correctly and shows favoritism towards others over them.

There really is no excuse for some of the crap we've been subjected to in the last couple of months.

They need to pull there finger out and sort the show out, we want to see the mitchells, the beales more not just one set of characters on repeat.

That's true. There is no excuse for the terrible storylines in the last couple of months but I'm hopeful that Kathy's return will be gripping to watch. They need to utilise all of the cast properly but there are some characters who needs a break.

I'm sure it will. September will be huge for Kathy, Ian, Sharon, Phil, Ben and Gavin

I agree. Ronnie hasn't been a good character in years and is now completely unbelievable and unconvincing. The actress is giving very wooden performances so I assume she realises the character is spent.

Ronnie (and Charlie) Are only in the cast lists on the 23rd new cast lists out until 31st and they don't seem to be in them either

The excuse for Ronnie's psychotic behaviour was always the loss of her children. Well she has a child now and the writers have spent no time showing her bonding with him. It renders all those debates about her state of mind during her various acts of vileness mute. I think this character has gotten away from the writers. Maybe it's because the actress can't/won't commit or she's been taken as far as she can go. I think Ronnie is a ridiculous character these days. Her death at New Year's should have stuck. It would have sent her out with a bang.

It's a bit odd that Ronnie and Charlie just go missing.

Ronnie exists purely to have 'tragic' storylines; it's all the character is designed for and, now they've written her into a corner as a murderer/psycho/villainess, all the character can actually do. So unless Matthew dies or something and she goes on a murderous rampage, there is nowhere else they can really go with this story.

That's what happens when you purposely design a character as a 'tragic heroine' - all they can do is tragedy. Ronnie is the exact opposite of the "complex, layered character" many people claim she is.

Yep. I think her dying would've been a much better/more believable storyline for the tragic heroine character she's always been portrayed as.
