Tronsmart Orion R68-Meta Android Box
I'm looking to buy an Android Box so I can run Kodi on my TV. There are so many various android devices available, but this Tronsmart Orion R68-Meta looks like a decent buy. If anyone has this model, is it a good value for money?

Don't be swayed by the notion it's a "64 Bit Box" because it won't really make a lot of difference. The main thing you need to look for first of all is kodi compatibility with the hardware. This page will be handy.
http://kodi.wiki/view/Android_hardware#cite_note-0 The Rockchip should be fine, but I know that the company Amlogic have actually cooperated with the Kodi developers and given them various drivers and libraries to ensure maximum compatibility, so i've always personally gone for Amlogic driven devices but it is, obviously, personal preference. The Amlogic S812 chip, for example, is the latest one and actually supports HEVC H265 hardware decoding, so should, in theory, cope with 4K playback fairly smoothly if you have a 4K TV. If you don't mind ordering from china, this box .. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Origi...368069195.html .. is about as top-end as you'll get at the moment. |

Good deal on Geekbuying right now. I think the 40% off codes are the best you'll get (just keep pressing) but for £40(15day delivery) a fast box

I just read that wifi on this box is not that great and the best would be direct Ethernet connection, which in my case is not what I need.
Back to square one.

Depending on what specifically you want to do with kodi, then I would possibly suggest buying a £35 Amazon TV stick and sideloading kodi onto it.
