He's targeting Cristian, not Nick surprisingly. Perhaps Danny thinks that he's hot stuff and could win the adoring female vote, and that's why Cristian is more of a target than Nick is, because maybe he sees Cristian as more of a threat in that department?

Don't forget that this is big money these people are playing for. In the real world people literally kill other people for less money.

It's a great theory, and if Cristian is playing it out then it would be a great strategy, especially as the game is drawing out to the close. Cristian does seem capable of using sarcasm and Danny does seem incapable of detecting it

In their attempt to kiss Danny's backside, they made it so much worse than it had to be. I felt bad for Nick because they did not need to turn the question into a discussion on how highly they regard their house mates and how little they think of another.

The appropriate way of handling things would be saying ''I could see Nick making a joke like that," without getting into the offensive nature of the comments.

That being said, I don't understand why they thought the comments came from Nick. Even if they thought the comments were beneath Danny, tone has to count for something: Danny sounds like a lad and Nick does not sound like a lad. The comment had a laddish tone.

Every series the housemates act in awe of one particular housemate and see them as the winner. This series it's Danny.
Why housemates do this I have absolutely no idea, because what it does is actually help them and diminish themselves as contenders.

I've seen evidence of this weird housemate behaviour right back to BB7 when they were like this with Pete.

They must either think that they're expected to do this as it's traditional BB housemate behaviour and they've seen other housemates do it in other series, so feel an obligation to arse kiss who they think will win, or is it because they think if they are this housemate's best friend they'll sail along on their coat-tails into the final and get a second place, or if they're really lucky just pip them to the post?

I'd agree with all this, if I hadn't seen Cristian going round behind people's backs, and lying about them and setting them up. I'll reserve my thoughts on him though until I've seen the questions he asks in the latest task.

I think when it comes to winning Big Brother itself winning a task would pale in comparison.

I don't know. I can't see how Cristian wouldn't be pissed off with him when he was only trying to have a laugh with Danny over his spelling of canoe. Or when Danny told him to get it into his thick skull that it was the sun, not the moon. Or when Danny accused Cristian of being inconsiderate when Danny was sat on his scrawny arse while Cristian was cooking eggs for other people.

BB housemates can be thick, but I very much all of this would have gone unnoticed by Cristian. Even if he isn't vocally arguing with Danny about these things, he's going to be aware of them.

Hmm.. that's not entirely true now, is it? I assume you are referring to the incident with Jade. I agree that Cristian took a misstep there but he wasn't actually lying: she did all the things he said she did. I didn't like the way he raised it before and after she was nominated, but he wasn't making it up. Also, you make it sound like he does this all the time, which is blatantly untrue.

I've watched the clip again after reading your theory. Part of me thinks Cristian is still a bit under Danny's spell, but on the other hand, he does pointedly emphasise the word 'nice'. So maybe there is a touch of irony there. I hope you are right though.

I don't know if I'm right at all, I'm only going on feelings and instinct. What's going on in their heads is anyone's guess. We can only look back at how they've handled previous situations.
Like you say, if Cristian is partially deaf it would explain a lot why he may avoid getting into arguments if he can and if they can get a bit heated, as it can be difficult at the best of times.

They also know that he's viewed as the most fame hungry house mate (? one of the poll results).

I think they are scared of him to be frank. They know that Nick and Joel will not kick up a fuss over any perceived sleight but had they voted Danny, he would have hit the roof.

I wouldn't necessarily think of it as sarcasm, I would say it's more about being disingenuous for a reason.
But you're right, Danny is a humour vacuum, so sarcasm would probably be just as effective in his case.

Cristian was Danny's right hand man for his campaign against Marc. He bitched, gossiped and spread Danny's bullshit about Marc to everyone, usually with Danny present. I had started to forget about that…..

There are pictures. Also he is part of a team that raised £26.000 for a charitable trust for a hospice in margate
