Weird seeing people say if contactless will 'catch on', working in London and living not far away from it, contactless is in most places i go.
Cant remember the last place i went that didn't have it. Also see a bloke this morning use his iPhone on an Oyster gate at Fenchurch St station and the process was as quick as mine with my bank card. |

It's quite funny to remember there were a few people who criticized the iPhone 5s for having no NFC. Apple now have NFC and a payment system to go with it. Android Pay and Samsung Pay have yet to arrive.

I saw that on here yesterday. TFL advising people to make sure they have enough charge on their phones. Do they really think people would be so stupid to travel using Apple Pay with little or no battery life.

One of the best quotes to remember with anything like this is "Never underestimate the power of human stupidity". |

I was so looking forward to apple pay, I had dabbled with contactless a few times but it was always hit and miss due to the terminals not picking up the card (prob my fault). But I've noticed around where I live and it is a small town (Flint North wales) I have hardly seen contactless. We use Asda and they dont have it there, and Starbucks coffee and Costa this morning dont have it either. So far its only mcdonalds and I'm not going to make a habit of going there just for Apple Pay lol. No local spar or our post office, Im wondering will it get better or is it just suited to the bigger towns or cities. I would love to use it everyday, just wondering why arent most of the chip and pin terminals all contactless these days? Im exasperated and disapointed 😟

It's going up to £30 in September, for all. Cards have their own security methods so the risk is fairly low.

According to the App I've used it 7 times now. 3 times at the canteen in work - they got a contactless reader last year and it worked flawlessly. Staff did seem astounded though!
Couple of times in McDonald's which actively advertised ApplePay. Once in Boots which worked flawlessly. The last one was in the co-op, tried to select a different card for the first time, phone somehow ended up using the wrong card (the default) and I had to sign? Very weird. I've had my wallet on me for all of them bar the work canteen - which meant I was able to pop downstairs to get lunch without carrying my wallet! The appeal for me is if I go to the town centre at lunch and don't take my wallet (I often go just for the walk) and fancy a drink then I can, same goes for if I'm out for a jog/cycle (obviously without my wallet) then I can grab a drink!

I did McDonalds Paignton tonight, flawless and then back to Morrisons Totnes.
It was brilliant the Woman on the checkout hadn't seen it yet. Held my iPhone there and she just went "Card?" I said, "No, this should work, Apple Pay see!" She went "oh" and pressed the button at which point the phone woke up, paid and went back in my pocked all in about 2 seconds!!! I think she's still sitting there now wondering exactly what happened... Hahahahahaha |

Due to everyone (that's what it feels like) using Apple Pay and making me impatient to use my newly purchased iPhone 6. I've become like a spoilt tempestuous child in not getting my own way in finding contactless terminals within the flint area (North Wales).
So far it's the local McDonald's and Weatherspoons 😐 So I can either eat or drink myself to death while sampling that Apple Pay goodness (If I was to use it often). Oh by the way this is firmly tongue in cheek I do realise Im being ridiculous but I'm a fan of Apple and big fan of convenience. And I'm surprised by the lack of contactless facilities |

Had one tonight, paid for with Apple Pay. Made it somehow taste better....... Ok, now I need help..........

Won't be long before more outlets join the Apple Pay platform, mark my words.
Here is a system that has virtually no fraud so for the time being it will become the de facto standard. Course give it 10 years and we'll have quantum computing and then everyone will be able to hack anything. Don't go linear, look out for exponential and then you might be ready!!!! All hell is about to break loose......... |

Hahahahahaha My biggest concern is how it's really screwing up gatelines on London Underground because of the delay. Oyster is extremely quick (but flawed), ITSO cards are a bit slower (and CPCs) but it seems that it's nothing to the 5-7 seconds for using Apple Pay (the phone, not a watch). I bet people behind aren't going 'wow' but rather 'move your ****ing a**e'. |

Asda are owned by Walmart, who are pretty anti-Apple pay in the States, instead backing an alternative payment system.
http://bostinno.streetwise.co/2015/0...bile-payments/ not sure whether that extends to not having contactless in any form... I talked to her last night on Skype and asked her if her card had chip and pin and still it don't, so the states are a bit slow. |
