I read on another thread that double clicking the home button when the phone is in sleep mode opens Apple Pay in the Passbook. Does that work for anyone cause it doesn't work for me?
Not doing it here. Maybe it's a jailbreak thing.
That's introduced with iOS 9. It won't work on earlier iOS versions.

Does it automatically appear from sleep mode when you hold your phone over the terminal?
Yes, with the phone in sleep mode, hold the phone over the terminal with your finger/thumb on the ID scanner the phone wakes up.

That's handy. Saves time from opening the PassBook App all the time. Is it true some stores have the technology to lift the £30 limit or is the limit £20?

Used successfully in Boots. Perhaps not quite as instant as a contactless card but still very quick. No need to unlock the phone or anything.

I thought you would be able to use it in a lot more supermarkets. Seems to be only M&S and Waitrose on the list so far.

Tesco don't seem to do Contactless at all yet - al least on the self-service tills. The Icon has been there for ages but it is greyed out!

I think the contactless limit is universally going to £30 later this year (September?)

ApplePay should be MORE secure than contactless - and not subject to its limits at some time in the future.

Odd. I wonder why the other supermarkets aren't participating.

Give other retailers time they will participate eventually.

Tesco have all of London and a fair bit of the home counties and southern England contactless.

Not reached my part of rural Oxfordshire yet! Nice to know it's coming though.

It's just because the other supermarkets generally don't have contactless terminals yet. At least not nationwide.

Didn't realise it was available at the Co-Op and Morrisons as they are not listed as participants.

There's a bit of confusion about the participants/launch partners.

Apple Pay works anywhere that accepts contactless payments. I *think* the launch partners have upgraded terminals that will allow the removal of the usual contactless transaction limit. But anywhere that accepts contactless will accept Apple Pay, subject to the usual contactless limit.

I'm also with Lloyds, but your MBNA card will work. I added (then used) my card this morning at McDonalds. It confused the person behind the counter

I've never been asked for my PIN when using contactless.
Neither have I, and I regularly use contactless.

You can use it wherever contactless is accepted. Co-op are also an official launch partner according to the Apple Website http://www.apple.com/uk/apple-pay/wh...use-apple-pay/

it IS supposed to randomly ask for the PIN every so often for added security!

banks will prompt you to enter your PIN when you use contactless more than 2-3 times in the same day, it's an added layer of security to check your card hasn't been lost/stolen and being used fraudulently.

I just tried adding Barclaycard, Lloyds and Natwest and none of them would work, saying issuer does not yet support it.

Oh I didn't read the blurb above the list of participants where it says it's accepted anywhere contactless payment is available.
