I read on another thread that double clicking the home button when the phone is in sleep mode opens Apple Pay in the Passbook. Does that work for anyone cause it doesn't work for me?

Not doing it here. Maybe it's a jailbreak thing.

Does it automatically appear from sleep mode when you hold your phone over the terminal?

Yes, with the phone in sleep mode, hold the phone over the terminal with your finger/thumb on the ID scanner the phone wakes up.

Used successfully in Boots. Perhaps not quite as instant as a contactless card but still very quick. No need to unlock the phone or anything.

I thought you would be able to use it in a lot more supermarkets. Seems to be only M&S and Waitrose on the list so far.

That's handy. Saves time from opening the PassBook App all the time. Is it true some stores have the technology to lift the £30 limit or is the limit £20?
ApplePay should be MORE secure than contactless - and not subject to its limits at some time in the future. |

Tesco don't seem to do Contactless at all yet - al least on the self-service tills. The Icon has been there for ages but it is greyed out!

Odd. I wonder why the other supermarkets aren't participating.

It's just because the other supermarkets generally don't have contactless terminals yet. At least not nationwide.

I used it this morning at the Co-op, Morrisons and Boots - worked first time on each occasion.

Didn't realise it was available at the Co-Op and Morrisons as they are not listed as participants.
Apple Pay works anywhere that accepts contactless payments. I *think* the launch partners have upgraded terminals that will allow the removal of the usual contactless transaction limit. But anywhere that accepts contactless will accept Apple Pay, subject to the usual contactless limit. |

There's a bit of confusion about the participants/launch partners.

I just tried adding Barclaycard, Lloyds and Natwest and none of them would work, saying issuer does not yet support it.

You can use it wherever contactless is accepted. Co-op are also an official launch partner according to the Apple Website http://www.apple.com/uk/apple-pay/wh...use-apple-pay/
