Is B'Pay that awful sticker you have to put on the back of your phone or is there a much easier way to use it?

easiest way (IMHO) is the wristband.

easiest way (IMHO) is the wristband. Having your watch or wristband pay for stuff is ultra-convenient, having to get your phone out, not so much.

I have an Apple Watch so it will be dead easy to use Apple Pay.

Ok, once again Apple have done it again.
Taken an idea and made it work.
I just did my first payment in Morrisons in Totnes.
Was quite scary as there was a queue.

Seriously, how awesome is this thing!!!!!

Checkout lady sat there waiting, as they do.
I held my iPhone over the terminal with my thumb on the reader and my god,.. the whole thing took literally 4 seconds from taking the phone out of my pocket to putting it back again.

She was even more surprised than when I first used a card! Hahaha

No joke, it took her longer to scan my Match & More key ring card!!!

It's amazing I have to say.

I love the way the phone just wakes when near the terminal and loads the passbook app for you.
Also it doesn't have to be as close as a card as the phone obviously as active electronics making the range far greater.

The future is here.
The singularity is near!!

Agreed Stiggs

I can honestly say I have never ever paid for anything as fast.
It's even way faster than a contactless card since that's nearly always in a wallet or purse.

They should really have left and right handed turnstyles.

I was on the Tube today, I registered my 6 for Apple Pay, but wasn't quite brave enough to use it, I'll ease myself in gently first, by buying a Latte, to feel, how it feels. I'm bit concerned in the hustle and bustle of rush hour, holding my thumb on the button, and getting the phone near the pad, without being trampled to death !

I would be nervous using my Apple Watch or iPhone on the Tube also in case the gates wouldn't open and I would get a chorus of tutting behind me.

reddit summarises it well:

Quote:
“on the Tube it makes a huge difference opening up the Passbook app and authenticating before the gate (you hold down your thumb and it says "Hold Near Reader to Pay"). If you do that, it's the same time as a contactless card. If you don't, you need to authenticate at the gate and then all London will wish you dead”

Do you have to place the phone screen directly above the yellow circle or can you just place the back of the phone over it?

I just tap my wallet now lol

Also, i have the new version of the Barclay's bpay band. The chip is removable from the band and looks like a old style sim card.

I just whacked it in my phone case so don't have to do any pressing things

If you ask Barclays they will supply you a sticker with the chip inlaid that was designed to stick on phones and phone cases (and other similar items).

Of course a few ways Apple pay is better is you can select the card you want, there will be no limit where you see the Apple Pay symbol and I noticed today you get a nice summary of what you've spent on each card in Passbook.
Don't know why I scrubbed the last four digits out on this really. Just felt safer....

Sadly my bank isn't in Apple Pay yet but can't wait for this to hit off like devon getting an iPhone 6 is paying off over and over again.

Apple pay, great until you suffer a fraud, then you will wish you paid with a debit or credit card.

There's a much bigger chance of fraud being committed using a credit or debit card than using Apple Pay with your phone using fingerprint ID.
DevonBloke

Yeah, can't really see how fraud is possible with this, short of cutting someone's finger off.

Fingerprint patterns change when someones fingers are cut off so it would be pointless.
