This forum can be annoying.

Same old topics and no one wants to comment about past characters.

Chris Tate was good. ..but Kim ended up being the hard bitch ! Chris ended up in a wheelchair after the plane crash episodes didn't he? I will always remember as his Dad died, Kim standing over him with a smug look on her face, doing her lipstick....

biaaattcchh lol :P

Robert Sugden played by Ryan Hawley is just great! Conniving, pyschotic, clever and dark.....a brill bit of recasting and scripting.

It's a discussion forum and we have the right to discuss what we want to on here. Going into a sulk because we're not discussing what you want us to discuss isn't doing you any favours.

I wouldn't say fearless... Chris was very insecure in some ways, like about Charity going off him/cheating/wanting a man who was fully abled. Similarly Robert seems to act out of fear a lot of the time; fear of losing his cash cow, his reputation, Victoria and Diane's good opinions of him etc.

That's what the Past and Present thread is for.

I love the bad boys! Robert and Ross are my favourites at the moment.
They are BAD, but you can't help but like them!
Cameron was a different kettle of fish - pure evil in the end!
Chris Tate was a decent guy until he ended up in that wheelchair!
Carl King was a lovely guy - and had a personality-transplant in a matter of weeks!
Cain Dingle is a tough one - is he now good? Don't cross him!

I think that on the surface Robert is like Carl but Carl became twisted and bitter because of his guilt. He kind of gave up on being a decent human being and just let himself become more bitter. Robert is bitter too, but it's not down to guilt. Robert's fun to watch but he's bordering on being a sociopath.

BIB: That's a bit harsh on Chrissie!

I know something else that can be annoying.

Is your favourite Mr Men book 'Mr Grumpy'?

Aww, no I like Chrissie! I just think that's pretty much all Robert sees her as. Well I think he's attracted to her and doesn't mind being around her, but he certainly can't love or have any respect for her.

I think he does love her but is just an opportunist. He'd sleep with a sheep if it got him power/money etc

I don't think he sees it as a sexuality thing either

I want to know more of what Rob's been up to during his time away from the village. Surely he's got to have some juicy secrets before he met the Whites!

Didn't Cliff Richard do a musical about Heathcliff's missing years in Wuthering Heights? He was in his 50s but playing Heathcliff in his early 20s.

He should do one for Robert

I used to love Chris Tate. One of my favourite lines (to Zoe, who was seemingly interested in Angie the copper):

"Are you trying to find out if the WPC is AC / DC??"

All three great characters, but not sure I think Robert is fearless - I think he's a massive coward. He'll do anything to cover up being bi, being unfaithful, and anything that threatens his status, as others have said. Amazing fun to watch him trying to cling onto it though.

Carl in his prime was gorgeous.

Robert's a big wuss but it's fun watching him become extra conniving to hang on to his nice little set up

At least he's got the brains to do that, unlike some other twentysomething villains I could mention...

He was married to Kathy but started an affair with Rachel after the plane crash. Chris was a great character, but was rightly paranoid about Charity having an affair with Cain

That sounds truly horrific Glendarroch!

Sir Cliff's hips would crumble to dust

Andy will probably beat him to death after he hears what really happened to Katie. Rob will likely cheat on Aaron and Aaron will tell Andy. Then Aaron will cry for months.
