While Microsoft are busy handing out P45's and doing massive $7.6 Billion write downs it hasn't stopped Microsoft from getting some new phones ready for launch. Six new Lumia phones with Windows 10 should be out in the not too distant future. They do seem to be launching a new phones ever 6 months by the looks of it.

Whatever they do is not going to increase their sales nobody wants them
To be honest i think Microsoft are sinking fast on the mobile side.
They need to drop the attitude and start bring out Android phone that's the only way they will survive in the mobile business.

And Android would help? Sony and HTC seem to be having troubles getting sales and Samsung's sales are down as well and they are the top make at the moment.

Android isn't the answer to every mobile phone makers problems.

They are far from sinking on the mobile side.

Mobile hardware, yes, which is why they are scaling back Windows Phone. But mobile in general no. Microsoft seems to be shifting back to their traditional software roots and their online services are popular as ever.

I don't what they hope to achieve with these 6 devices, I think they are still a little wary of pulling out of hardware sales completely, but eventually they will have to be realistic about Windows Phone. It just isn't working.

I imagine they will have one last push with the release of Windows 10, but I don't see it gaining much traction against Android or even iOS.

I like Mobile Windows Phone Mobile. 10.1. So I hope they keep it going so that when I do use an Android device I fully appreciate its complexity. I have had 4 WP devices so far and I am looking to pick up the L640XL later in the year after it is updated to Windows 10 Phone Mobile.

I can’t see the point of an MS Android device if it does not come with Google Play Services and that is very very unlikely. MS need to keep putting out good apps for its services on all platforms.

No but what else is there?

Android would be better than the windows better apps straight away
To be honest i have tried 3 different windows phone and a tablet and just couldn't get on with them just don't work like android or ios they are both much better on phones

Windows 10 mobile will be make or break for them

Android may be losing money at the moment but MS is losing a lot more.

The problem is the world is over loaded by phones, most people who want a smart phone have already got one and I have noticed that more of my mates are buying phones outright, just like I did with my Nexus 4 and going for a PAYG sim or contract sim. youngsters may still be doing the pay £40 a month job and get a brand new phone every couple of years, but a lot of older people are not.

Windows phones are quick and easy to use, but they do not offer what the younger generation want and maybe having a windows phone is not so cool as having a Samsung or Iphone.

I do laugh at some of these people who pay £40 a month for a smart phone and yet just use it to make/receive calls and send/receive text.,
