Why is Danny so unlikable?

Well to me anyway.

There is just something about his combination of traits that really sets my teeth on edge every time he is on screen.

He is right up there with my most disliked housemates ever, yet on the surface seems not to deserve this.

I think it is just the combination of his character traits. He is utterly stupid for one.

I dislike this because he just can't be bothered to work to educate himself. No reason why he can't, he just can't be arsed. He exudes this sense of entitlement, as if his looks should get him everything he wants with no hard work.

This lack of education shows in his inarticulate responses, 'shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!.

He is by far and away the most aggressive in there but tries to paint himself as the voice of reason and fair play.

His whole persona seems an act to me. He just comes across as fake from his 'father of the house' position, but combined with his remarks that are intended to undermine the positions of other housemates.

The business with the spelling of 'canoe' where his true character managed to emerge for a second, he didn't like to be shown as less than 'the man' and the underlying aggression peeked through. Then he combined this when asked again by BB to spell it and having been told many times how to do it he pretended he might be in difficulties for the sake of drama.

A man of no depth, no principles and a sense of entitlement. Yuk!

Anyone else feel the same?

Well how do I put this ? He is insincere, fake, a hypocrite and a famewhore. I think that is it in a nutshell.

No absolutely not its your opinion which not everyone shares totally disagree
he has been a good housemate with depth and certaintly not fake he's a finalist and this has go to count for something testament to his likeability and determination to succeed
Danny for the win!

If he is the father of the house, he rules it with an iron fist. I find him quite intimidating still, even though the big bad man he was protecting everyone from has long since left the house.

If the hm's are not towing the Danny line they are shot down. How he hasn't hung Christian upside down and used him as a punch bag yet is beyond me!

I'm reading this view all the time on the forums yet he seems to be really popular with the general public : /

Combination of flaws, fashionable to hate him and jump on the bandwagon so every last thing he does is microanalysed - in other words, a lot of confirmation bias. Oh, and he was the foil to Marc/Helen - their supporters are extremely vocal.

If Dan is the house father it is because the other HMs put him there. They defer to him because he is the oldest and looks "cool". In spite of his faults the HMs, from the little we see, like him. If there are any feelings of superiority its because the HMs say stupid shit like "you are superior" and "you were a real man, Danny" and "let Danny do it".

Danny has a job and is educated to state standard, so what exactly are you saying here? That unless someone is educated to degree standard then they have something to be ashamed of?

If he depicts being educated to 'state standard' then that is seriously worrying and there is something gravely wrong with the education system in this country

I totally agree with you 100% especially when he cannot stand anyone disagreeing with him . I don't think he is the sharpest tool in the box , I would say it's his way or no way .I used to think he was great but cannot stand the guy now too self-centred for me.

It's one thing to say that you 'think he's thick' or whatever be is educated, we are all educated or at least should be. Anyway wasn't it Danny that explained self- esteem to Cristian at Marc's request earlier in the series. He isn't 'that' thick.

I did like Danny until recently, when he was pouring that stuff slowly over Jack's head and then that weird stare when Joel was singing has put me off him for some reason. That stare reminded me of the look on Jason's face when Emma and Michelle returned to the house! (BB5)

Because he is a thick, illiterate, unintelligent, inarticulate, fake, fame chasing, aggressive, boring pion.

To answer the OPS's question I will use one word, 'disingenuous'.
