That's low, even for Big Brother. How has that got anything at all do with the process of this show? No wonder he was upset.

“That task was completely not fair. In my case, the one about a partner.
"The way it was worded, it sounded really malicious. It’s the kind of conversation that I’d have quietly with a good mate.” He told Big Brother that he would have divulged the sex tape information in a private conversation and that it's unfair that it was broadcast to the whole house. Does he mean a private conversation in the BB house? ![]() I assume he spoke to someone else in the house OR maybe told a BB producer before entering. |

If he did do that then shame on him. While I don't like how sleazy big brother has gone, what does he expect if the others are receiving similar treatment.

Maybe the hms shouldn't pretend to be holier than thou, it really does make them look so stupid, especially Cristian who continually called Jade a 'bed hopper' and was partly responsible for her eviction and some called him 'sweet and innocent'LOL.
If people were honest about themselves it might be different, but as they are this series I am glad they are being exposed. |

They shouldn't be receiving it either. And for the further reason, that if they had spent all their time exposing bits of HMs pasts in previous series, then given the calibre of contestants there wouldn't have been any time left for anything else. Unless 1 HM is a saint and all the others are not, you are back to a level playing field once you've finished dishing, so it's a bit pointless anyway.

So if someone has skeletons in their closet and they choose to go on BB it's considered unfair for those skeletons to be revealed to the public?
Surely he (Cristian) has opted to reveal this information at some stage, knowing that it may reach a wider audience?

But is the thrust of it that Cristian blackmailed someone, but BB is the one in the wrong for revealing it?
I'm not sure why anyone would wish to defend Cristian on this.Like Jason says, none of us know the truth either way |

If he did indeed blackmail someone, why have they not said so? Why have they instead worded it the way they have? I mean, it couldn't be to plant the seeds in people's mind and to stretch the truth to make Cristian look bad, could it?
Like Jason says, none of us know the truth either way [Edit] According to the Daily Star, Big Brother asked the HMs, "Which housemate put an end to a relationship with an ex by reminding them of an intimate video between the two of them that their parents wouldn’t want to see?" That is blackmail by anyone's definition. Surely even Cristian's mother would agree with that? |

So Cristian wanted to leave his girlfriend, and for some reason resorted to blackmail, threatening to reveal their sex tape to her parents? And people think that Big Brother is the one in the wrong?
Am I missing something? He either used the threat of a sex tape to blackmail a girlfriend he wanted to get rid of, or he didn't. I need the alternative explanation which explains how it wasn't malicious. If it was the case that it wasn't a malicious threat at all, and that it was a mutual agreement with them both that they couldn't carry on because of the tape, then why isn't anyone putting forward this explanation? |

Well this is what confuses me, how can it be claimed that it had been worded to sound malicious?

Did they use the word blackmail? No, that's my point. Instead, they've done exactly what Cristian said. They've worded it maliciously, in a way that stirs trouble. This thread and some of the replies prove that.
We don't know exactly what was said, how it was said or why it was said. |

They didn't need to use the word 'blackmail', nor would using that word make it sound any less malicious.

So you don't think they intended to cause harm with the way they have worded the question?

I'm saying that if they had used the word 'blackmail' then it would sound like Cristian was just as malicious. Is there a nice way of describing somebody blackmailing his girlfriend? Or are you saying that they've made it sound like blackmail when it may not have been?

But of course we can't be sure of the true context yet. If we ever will. Whichever way you look at it, it really is a tacky, shitty thing for BB to do. It really is a low shot and cheapens the show to a level even lower than where it stood before. It';s hardly surprising why the show has put so many viewers off it for so many years. |

Who is to say the girlfriend didn't threaten to do something despicable first? As several have said, we know very little and will likely never know the whole story. |

Why would you need to threaten your partner with a sex tape to split up with them... Couldn't you just say "I can't do this anymore", or was she psycho or something? LMAO..

I suppose it could be argued that they equally agreed to end their relationship because of the potential of the sex tape getting out. But even that doesn't make sense because surely most sex tapes are published after people have split up as some form of revenge aren't they?
I suppose they could have ended their relationship amicably, but how does a sex tape 'get out' unless one of them releases it. By accident?! And why would Cristian need to 'remind' his GF that he has the tape? |

Have people become so desensitised to BB's interfering that it is now considered normal and acceptable to feed external information into there now? |

The point of keeping everything in the House and excluding outside information is context. Even if it's edit driven things that happen in the House tend to have some context; whether it be through humour, anger, passion etc. Throwing in a tweet or comment from the outside without context doesn't give the person much of a chance to defend themselves and results in judgements based on very little knowledge.
