Not what any sane person would call quisine, but the thought of having to eat what cheap supermarkets sell as party food turns my stomach. Just little pieces of god knows what coated in salt and grease. Mmm.

I've had some work dinner like that - 3 course meal in a fancy restaurant then I've had to stop for a takeaway on the way home as I was still hungry.

Pizza. It's the blandest food ever. Just glorified cheese on toast

My favourite local restaurant which we think is pretty close to getting a Michelin star served me my scallop starter on slate the last time I was there. It was one of the best starters I've ever had, there was no difference between it being on a plate or slate, the only difference the slate made was that it looked nicer.

This "adult sized" portion nonsense makes me laugh too. I've eaten in plenty of nice places and never left anywhere hungry, the food is often richer, so more filling and I've always left just pleasantly full. I guess some people aren't happy and don't care what the food is like as long as they feel like they're about to explode at the end.”

No It doesn't matter and is very "subjective"...
If being served scallops on a Welsh roof tile made it look nicer then your already sold.

Subway, McDonalds, KFC, 'Wendy's' or any such artificial aroma-'enhanced' shite.

I am a huge food-lover - I do a lot of cooking, a lot of eating and have tried almost everything I've been able to get my hands on, and I've come to a couple of conclusions about which ones I prefer to others, and my answer to this question is easy! Well, I'll pose it as another question..

What on earth is the big deal about Italian food?

Don't get me wrong, I like a nice pasta dish and they're very good with sauces. But really, of all the things to choose from, why are we as a nation - as a planet, even - so obsessed with food that when compared to other cuisines, is usually rather bland and inoffensive? There are so many exotic cuisines out there - Thai, Indian, Mexican, Japanese, Cantonese, Spanish, Argentinian, Brazilian, German, and more - that Italian usually just bores me.

I wouldn't say that you're 'wrong'... in restaurants at least, it's basically just pasta, pizza, risotto. The desserts are probably a nice range for those who like consuming pure sugar, but for those that prefer to have a starter and main rather than main and dessert, Italian restaurants are... well, just 'samey'.

Pizza.

I won't go as far as saying I can't stand it but I find it really boring.

Crab. The smell and taste reminds me of having the flu.

Although I love the seaside I hate Crab meat!

Surströmming is also one of the most disgusting foods on the planet. It smells worse than dog crap!

Have to agree with that, it's all very samey.

Not a huge fan of pizza, but it's the huge variety of possible toppings which make it enjoyable for me.

I buy a Sainsbury's two-quid 'counter' chicken and/or vegetable pizza, bung on a multitude combo of anchovies, mushrooms, sliced fennel tops and chopped chilli, and I'm in pizza heaven - for practically 10% the price of takeaway pizza!

Despite my apathy towards Italian food which I mentioned earlier, I have to chime in and agree that supermarket pizzas with your own choice of toppings are an absolute bargain and can be pretty damn nice. Once you've put one together yourself for £3-£4 you'll never get a Dominos again.

Pizza is only good with the right toppings though. You can do whatever you want and be really boring or totally mad if you choose. My housemate gets chicken, red onion and nothing else, which is just...blurgh. Meanwhile my OH likes olives, pineapple, jalapenos and onion bhajis all together on his pizza, which I find absolutely revolting but is certainly not bland

I don't eat meat, but even so, even the pictures on the KFC adverts look like something designed to make people throw up, never mind the vile stuff that they pass off as food.

MacDonalds likewise.

Chinese takeaway food is mainly grease mixed with monosodium glutamate.

Nachos – who was the joker who decided that such filth in any way constituted a meal?

Kebabs – roadkill on a stick.

Herring and mackerel dishes – stale scrapings from the waste bins of an STD clinic.

Jewish food – inedible objects boiled up and served in a bowl of dishwater.

Steak with blood oozing from it – people who eat that shouldn't be left alone with children or household pets.
