Joel has always been like this except when the house was full of tension (Brian, Helen, etc).
Even Chloe said that after week one he was the funniest HM and always kept her laughing to the point she almost pissed her pants

Agree that he has always been like this.

I don't mind Joel, but he never seems to have a natural style of asking questions, like in a normal conversation. It's like a Jeremy Paxman style of interrogation.

It's normally the dimwits who can't cope with intelligent conversation, and feel threatened by anything more than basic small talk.

Joel has been like this from the get go. Its just how the highlights were edited

Even Chloe had good words to say about him in last nights show... the word "fun" is mentioned... as for playing up for the cameras - he might on occasion but is savvy enough to know it's finals week so everyone should up their game... oh, and he's not the only one to play up to the cameras occasionally...

Joel would give up his political aspirations in a jiffy if he was offered a tv presenting role after all he's been auditioning for various roles for weeks now; first political correspondent, in depth interviewer and now light entertainment host. I wonder if Graham Norton is afraid for his Eurovision spot!

That's what it's all about!

I think his questioning is very intelligent and he uses it for both learning/understanding and manipulation.

I'm enjoying watching him enjoy himself. Joel really seems quite happy.

He has the silliest laugh; it's full of mirth

The same Joel has been there since the beginning...but all we got shown were Harry's tits, Marc's teeth and some cringeworthy showmances rarely made it through a week.

Anybody who has followed the show and the main site/feed has seen Joel has been like this all along, he had a couple of lulls due to the house tension and his surgery, but overall he has just enjoyed himself.

Every housemate that has come out has mentioned how fun he is and every visitor (Aisleyne and Helen both whom had a negative view of him going in) loved him when leaving.

I don't understand this thread. Joel is definitely consistent if nothing else.

he is the same guy from at start - probably the most consistent one in there.

I haven't seen him use their answers to manipulate.

A learned technique, and a world away from all his other behaviour. Interesting.

Social intelligence, in order to get to know people, you have to ask them questions. I do find him intelligent for his age and a breath of fresh air too.

Joel gathers facts and figures. He does not tune into people on an emotional level, so I wouldn't say he has social intelligence.

It was so good. I'd love to see that again.
