I knew the insults would come. People can only explain their dislike Joel by saying it's because he's a tory or insulting him.
![]() If by stating MY opionons on him are perceived by you and his other supporstes as insulting, so be it. It is me giving my valid opinion on a BB housemate and calling out the traits I find deeply diselikeable in him. Every person on this forum will have a particular person they will like or dislike and post their opinions accordingly. It's churlish to insult the forum members for being insulting when all we . well I am doing is stating my opinion. You do it too connor. |

Joel being a councillor - a school governor - involved with two charities - means this NINETEEN year old is one exceptional individual trying to do good for his local community... I wish there were more people like him interested in helping their local community... pompous? Occasionally perhaps but at least he hasn't pretended to be any one else...

He is the unacceptable face of the tory party, a smug pompous ass, thinks he is better than everyone else. Silly little boy, reminds me of David Cameron

It would be a shame if people took a dislike to Joel just for his political views. Because he's still very young, and also more intelligent and articulate than most of the others, he can certainly seem over-precocious, but I still quite like him. I think he's got enough sense of humour to make him likeable.

I distrust him because he talks like a typical politician, not because of his chosen party.

I can't understand what all this class warfare is about. It seems that a lot of people have taken a dislike to Joel because he is interesed in politics and even worse supports the Tories!
Well I'm not happy that they won the election but I don't go around forming my views about someone by first asking what political party they support. And then assigning them with aĺl the negative attributes that I associate with a party I'm not keen on. All the descriptions of him being slimy, smug, manipulative etc are very harsh. To my mind a lot of those views can be said of most of the housemates at some time or another. I think a llot of people distrust Joel because he is defintely not your typical teenager - he seems to have been born old or just out of his time. But then the little boy in him escapes and it's a sight to behold. Love, love, love that he's into ABBA, can do a slut drop with the best of them, is not afraid to let out a girly scream, but is interested in other people and can hold an intelligent conversation. in a sea of mock stupidity (or actual in the case of Danny) Joel is breath of fresh air! So Joel for the win or at least in the top three along with Nick or (ducks first) Jack as although a moaner and a bit bitchy has been interesting and insightful at times. How do you know what people dislike him for? Seems to me you are just making your mind up that that is the case and running with it. I don't dislike him because i don't really know him. What I have seen of him i am not keen. The way he dumped his so called friends when Helen entered the house is what put me off him. He isn't loyal and runs with who ever he thinks will be of use to him. He basically had no time for the others and was glued to Helen like a glued puppet. I was very disappointed in him how he had no opinion when things got heated in the house all because she told him he was popular and sucked up to him. I can't stand people like that regardless of who they vote for. If you aren't loyal to people you have known first in the house then IMO you can't be trusted ever. He's a little performer and acts up to the camera at every opportunity, His sneering attitude when someone has a different opinion to his is very of putting too. It's his way or no way. |

Well he is definitely marmite here - some think he's by far the best housemate (which is what we are voting for) in there while others think he is "creepy"..
As for being a tory - record low inflation, record high employment, £9 living wage by 2020, record low interest rates... just won the general election... there's no shame in being a tory like 12 million others who voted them in... and he is SERVING his local community... win win in my book |

I personally have been helped by my MP when fighting a £850 tax bill. I also know of the hours and effort many MP's & their supporters walk round endlessly discussing their campaign. It might not be what you want, but they are only trying to make things better for the rest of us. |

I couldn't give a rats ass what politics he stupidly decides to devote his life to. I dislike him because he is a comes accross as a smug, self righteous and superior individual. I have disliked him all the way through, he has done nothing to change my mind. Moreover, the new cabaret, all singing and dancing Joel has only exacerbated my dislike for him.

I detest Tories they are dividing the UK and getting people to turn on each other,to say other parties are the same is a stupid arguement that lacks fact. I am now in a position of anyone but Joel or Danny to win,I dont mind a bit of fake acting up for a bit of fun or drama but Joel has consistently manipulated in order to make the others look bad while he takes some higher moral ground and now in the final week we see daily repition of Joel doing anything he can to grab airtime..his actions may go down well with BBUSA viewers but manipulating HMs to that degree in our show just makes me detest him more and more. |

There is absolute shame in being a Tory given the disgusting way these so called politicians have treated the disabled, the sick and the young. However thats prob better for politics forum, the fact is most people who dislike Joel appear to have many reasons to dislike him, being a Tory may be one reason but I doubt very much it would be the only reason people dislike him. |

Most of us do not live in London & have a wage @ £20K-25K if that where I live.

I dislike him because of his superior than thou attitude, his condescending questioning and deliberately worded responses rather than natural wording. If that's the same as being a Tory then I guess so.

I dont live in London either I guess their rent/mortgage is scandalous hence the ben cap being 5k more in Lon than everywhere else...They would have to pay me a lot more than £9 an hour to live in London,I love living in NW of England

When did BB become a political contest or should all the HMs be asked to declare their allegiance so we could vote accordingly if we have a party preference.
Perhaps we should try and guess. Maybe Chloe and Sam are labour supporters since they squandered the prize fund for nothing in return. Jack is clearly UKIP for nicking part of the prize fund. |

If they take credit for them, then they'll have to do the same when they increase sharply within the next couple of years. |

).But they have nothing to do with each over!!! I like Joel because he's a great guy, not because he's a Tory.

Boris Johnson (mayor of London) is Tory but quite scruffy looking and a likeable political figure.
He enjoys cycling and drinking beer at the pub. Not all conservatives are snobs. 19 yr old Joel has a dry sense of humour and is quite playful and entertaining. And I'm sure can also spell the word canoe ![]()

Although I'm not a Tory supporter, I've liked Joel pretty much from day one. His political party is irrelevant to me.

Well if things were so bad here, why not move abroad? Why do so many people want to move here? Look, there's just two parties that run this country - Labour or Tory and one could argue both are as bad as each other.. also who you vote for might depend on were you live.. I live near Bristol and this is now a safe tory seat BUT I totally understand if someone lives in the north and/or in a high unemployment or poorer area you are more likely to vote Labour.. (who knows if I would think different if I was born somewhere else)...
Now to Joel - for whatever reason he is a member of the tory party - but out of the six housemates left (none of them are perfect) he is my preferred choice and nothing anyone says on here is going to change my mind whether he wins or comes 2nd/3rd |
