There is some real scum on this planet, sadly, but you lump in those simply elected in a democracy.
Seriously, that's crazy, and I say it as someone who's never voted Tory since 1975 and never will.
would you invite Maggie and Jeffrey Archer round your house for tea?

Joel being a councillor - a school governor - involved with two charities - means this NINETEEN year old is one exceptional individual trying to do good for his local community... I wish there were more people like him interested in helping their local community... pompous? Occasionally perhaps but at least he hasn't pretended to be any one else...
Exactly this, a decent lad with some brains and somebody who wants to help his community, he should be commended for his efforts. A school governor and involved in charities, oh what a change to the normal BB winner at only 19'years old!

No, but then Maggie is dead (I marched against her with the miners' wives) and I wouldn't trust despicable Archer as far as I could throw him, but I'm sure people who've voted Tory have been welcome guests in my home.
Look, I'm one of those who idolised Tony Benn , but you have to have a bit of rationality on this subject.
I've also known some honorable Tory politicians - decent, hardworking people even though I'd vehemently disagree with their politics.

I like Joel but I loathe the Tories, they are the scum of the earth.
Well I place myself well below slugs & snail slime. Thanks for telling me where I belong

I dislike Joel because he embodies Tory values and demeanor plus I just don't like the way he comes across - it is the two things together.

He is young but has chosen to align himself with a political party that stands for wealthy people over ordinary people and in government is busy selling off public assets to their friends and family for their own financial gain whilst demonising public sector workers and services.

I don't like what we have seen of his personality (it is hard to tell with lack of live feed). I don't find him very authentic - very 'wannabe' - politician, presenter, mum pleaser. And from the limited edit we see, he comes across to me as smug, boring and actually quite sneering.

Shame this year, I don't really like any of them. But I would rather the posh boys didn't win it. Things are hard enough for young people at the moment, not least because of Tory policies which is busy stacking life in favour of those from wealthy backgrounds. I would hate to see Joel or Nick get the money or the publicity (though I do understand Nick has said he would give the money to charity?).

Whilst I'm not a fan of any of them, whatever their flaws, I would rather see more ordinary seeming housemates like Jack or Chloe win.

I think disliking someone for being a Tory is perfectly acceptable. Just as disliking a member of so-called ISIS is acceptable. Both entities have values that I find repellent.

There are many positive values that the Conservative Party purport to represent, and many negative traits that their detractors (myself included) disapprove of. Joel strongly believes in the former, and has no experience of the latter whatsoever. He doesn't strongly endorse the negative effects that a Tory government might have, like greater hardship for the poor. I do think he'll give it a lot of thought one day though, and perhaps try to affect things for the better.

ISIS, and people who support ISIS, are another thing entirely.

You seem to have a lot of faith in Joel. I think he'll keep his head down if he wants to get on in the nasty party.

More like hope, that equitable people like Joel joining the Tories might counteract some of the nastiness.

I dislike him because he is nowhere near as clever as he thinks he is and he looks like a crumpet.
