They haven't revealed exactly what's happening, as far as I'm aware Emmerdale/ITV haven't officially commented on it yet (as stated in that DS article).

Plus it was never officially confirmed there would be a funfair involved.

This plot sounds better in my eyes.

The Funfair would oally only realistically involve the younger characters.

Speaking from experience as an oldie (ie, over 50 which is old on this forum) funfairs are enjoyed by people of all ages, not just the young.

Well we know that Alicia and Val are leaving. Could this be their demise?
Who knows with Emmedale - they are normally good at keeping things secret!

I bet they do an actual summer fete - it's a very Emmerdale thing to do. A funfair ride disaster would be bad timing considering recent events. I doubt it'll be that. I reckon it'll be a bomb, or gas leek.

Soap explosions happen all the time though. For me, it'd be very hard to top the Zoe - home farm one.

I do like the idea of a fete

Either way I'm looking forward to it immensely

I love the fair total nostalgia, especially as some of the rides haven't changed their decor since1992.Indiana Jones, Marty Mcfly, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves all make regular appearances in the public park

maybe a Ferris wheel will become detached and roll into the village hall, blowing it up... now that would be cool. Debbie, Ross, Pete would all be on it, as that is already going round and round...

No they haven't. NO spoilers have been released. Even for the week it happens they've only released 2 days spoilers (something they never do. it's always the whole week) - which give nothing away.. It's all wild press speculation.

The village hall explodes sending debris flying over the dales, hitting the ferris wheel riders in the face and bringing it to a dramatic collapse

And Rachel's leaving.

One of Leyla/Jai/Megan is also very likely to die. I expect Jai to find out about Megan's scheming and he leaves her to die, or maybe it will be Rachel he leaves to die to get custody of Archie.

Emma and Harriet are two potential victims... and Vanessa will probably lose her baby.

All my potential victims are women, bar Jai... so I'm expecting a shock death (or two), as the above predictions are the only ones that make sense, to me. I'm guessing if anyone else does die, it's likely to be a random death with the character getting no build up storyline... which actually would be much more realistic. A character currently leading a quiet life without any of the drama surrounding them is likely to hit me harder than some contrived affair nonsense; we may actually see their family grieve rather than the aftermath being all about whatever affair they were caught up in.

That's a good point, it would be a total shock for it to be an innocent bystander. But I think it's far more likely to be

Spoiler

The powers that be need to do some 'surprise' deaths like Blackburn did with Karl King. Otherwise its all so predictable that it will be those that are publicly leaving. Please please please let it be Bob, this overacting pointing idiot has well outstayed his welcome on the show.

I think they need to kill off a long-time character tbh... I'm thinking it could be Lisa. Other options (imo) are Sam, Bernice, Bob, Rodney or Pearl. They're all characters that aren't really that important for the show, Sam's been an annoying character for ages with the Rachel stuff, Rodney's kind of pointless nowadays, Pearl is never seen anymore other than her brief gambling storyline, Bob has this storyline with Carly/Brenda but it could serve as a "dead with unfinished business" thing with Carly and Brenda both feeling guilty/regretting how things were before he died. Bernice is basically used as a comedic character and her storylines seem to revolve around her pathetic love life.

Other than that, have Pete killed, one of Megan/Rachel/Leyla, one of Ali/Ruby/Dan, Vanessa's baby and then maybe Tracey and that new doctor character.

Why do so many people want Vanessa's baby killed before it's even been born?

Not the cute doc! They'll be needing him to deal with the casualties anyway.

I don't think they do want it - it's just a lot of people (me included) think it's probably going to happen.

I'd prefer Andy or Laurel
