Sky Deutschland to launch Big Brother channel
Sky Deutschland to launch Big Brother channel dlvr.it/BX8j1M
http://www.broadbandtvnews.com/2015/...other-channel/ well that will start a few off about what c5 are doing with their other and sister channels but remember it is via a pay channel provider... and so it would still need virgin / sky / bt to host on their paid channel subscription package (and that is a difficult thing for the 3 to agree to on a one off standalone thing)... the reality is still... it is effectively not free |

is this really what you want ?
it had a year off being broadcast and it is sky that brought it back as a "hook" for its subscription packages. seems BB is still seen as a draw, and one that can sell subscription packages (in a tv market that is different to the UK one remember) |

channel 5 just aren't capable of such an operation
5's cut down version just doesn't do the show justice ,they are squeezing the life out of the format the current series has been derided by many, where do they go from here ? , who knows they decide |

I think the only thing that has ruined bb is us the fans by moaning, So would it be better to go through a sky channel of some type? |

Channel 5 are the most ignorant broadcast in Britain, They never reply to tweets, emails or anything regarding criticism of shows being produced. They are a joke, It's about time they listened to the people who actually watch the show and generate revenue for them. With product placements, Sponsors, and adverts and phone calls + voting app they must be making alot of money. Yet still wont provide viewers with more viewing access, But find we would all appreciate them having a twitter feed.

the question is, will you pay for BB
and do you think enough would. that is the only way it is getting a live feed in Germany - and as german paytv is structurally very different to the UK one, BB is seen by SKY as a possible way to turn the German structure more into the UK/AMERICAN one... (to those that think traditional pay tv is dead with the rise of "netflix" etc they should see last weeks bloomberg businessweek that questioned the power of viacom anymore yet acknowledged the way "viewer figures" or counted for normal tv against the "up and coming streamers" is flawed and the very people who make content for the new streamers saying "the old platforms are dead" they are still desperately pitching that content to MTV etc behind the scenes so they say one thing but may not be anything other than "new platform spin" - ie the hype about the old channels being in trouble may not be so true and hence why sky are still building on the old not the new in German expansion strategy) |
