I agree. I also think that Joel was hoping that Jack would really freak out about it and expose himself as greedy.

I think Joel is a very sly/crafty character - a lot of what he does and says is to expose others weaknesses or more negative traits. He never gives very much away about himself but will happily probe away at others.

In past BB's I have always had those characters that I loathe and I'll come on here berating. Joel is odd - he beavers away - I don't feel that jump up and down OTT loathing. I just really dislike him - I think he's been very devious in not stirring up the real intensity of loathing (in me anyway) - he's subtle. He's a bloody creepy little bugger.

Joel's behaviour in the hotel task showed he can be a bullying creep if the conditions are just right

There's something very off about Joel.

Similarly, when they were all asking Jack about his sex life. He was obviously uncomfortable and they were all taking shots at him. The joke is all those questions could easily have been directed at Nick and Joel too, and yet they also took part. Jack is now literally the only person I wouldn't mind winning.”

I completely agree. Would be a travesty for the jumped-up little Tory Boy to win.

I think Joel (AND Chloe) knew full well the risk of Jack losing the money. I think that was the reason he did it.

Their jealousy and spite that Jack has the money is pushing him towards the win, so hey ho, more fools them.

It has certainly been an eye opener. They're positively oooooozing jealousy.

We certainly can, Joel is now favourite and this is why the bully title has come out. I think that Joel is the least bullying character inside the house alongside Nick and this is the only reason I like these two! Jack was not going to lose his money in any way or form, so it's nonsense to say otherwise. There was some joking and banter going on in the bedroom and nothing else.

Some of these people need to look at their own favourites who are calling Joel a bully and snide and see what is being said about them!

Well considering Joel has never been bothered about the money and Jack and Chloe always have and even Cristian come to that, the jealousy isn't from Joel!

Well all I can say, better a Tory boy, than a labour boy that got our country in such a mess and so much debt which we are still paying for now!

I think this is all spot on from what I've seen. Joel's constantly picking, as if picking at a scab hoping it'll release a huge pulsating ball of puss and create a big spectacle. The problem for him (and Chloe, for that matter - her 'I sense a pie-face meltdown coming' comment was particularly illuminating) is that Jack, having got the 23k, is not rising to it and is handling himself with good grace because, in his head, he's out of the running anyway. Therefore, he's not self-conscious about how he'll be seen on the outside and desperate to present any particularly contrived version of himself. The only other housemate I could say the same of is Nick, who has probably never even entertained the possibility that he could win.

Bully is too strong a word but Joel is like one of those friends you have for years who makes you feel s*** about yourself because they're constantly putting you down in tiny little slithers. Taken by themselves those slithers seem relatively inconsequential but the cumulative effect is much more negative than you ever quite realise in the moment. Years later, after having drifted apart and with the benefit of an objectivity granted by hindsight, you wonder why you were ever friends with them in the first place.

Why not just accept that some people don't much like the little weasel and stop taking life so seriously.

Off topic but you *do* realise the banks got the country (and the entire western economy) in a mess don't you? Oh right, no you don't, because you blindly accept the version of events peddled by Cameron and his cronies. One can see why you'd like Joel, then.

(PS, we're in more debt now than we ever were under Labour)

He's been all over the place re the money. From blowing/stealing (in Chloe's reasoning) £2.5K on a pizza (and checking he didn't have to share it) to all his holier than thou 'prize fund' stuff. Total hypocrisy.

And now he and Chloe can't rest because Jack has the money cuffed to him in sight of them.

We are in nowhere near the mess we were in when labour left no money left in the coffers and we are better off than most countries and out of the recession. Even other countries are asking Osbournes advice so they can't be as bad as you say!!!!!

Absolute tripe. We had eighteen f***ing years of our schools and public services being neglected. with kids being taught in portacabins with buckets in the aisles to catch the leaks, and hospital buildings no longer fit for purpose. Labour had to put this right one way or another. They also had to bail out the banks when the crash came. If they hadn't, pensions, savings and jobs would've been lost, and businesses would've folded.
The idea that Labour CAUSED the GLOBAL crash is absolutely ludicrous.

Joel was pleased for Jack, Chloe was a different matter!

That is excellent perception and a great description IMO. Well put.

As evidenced in the task yesterday - Joel is totally self centred - I think he has worked away trying to expose the others. He became worse after Mark and Helen came into the house telling him how wonderful he was and to keep on doing the same. I never liked him but those two weeks where he was so often sat between mummy and daddy with that smug (little Prince) look on his face really sealed the deal for me.

After the excrutiating/cringey political posturing about how 'I will not be responsible for a killer nomination' including the obligatory and well rehearsed hand gestures I find myself wanting to stick my foot through the telly whenever I see his self satisfied/smug face looking back at me.

By 'most countries' do you mean Greece? Because Osborne has borrowed more money in 3 years than Labour did in 13.
