Stop stealing my posts.
I couldn't resist it.

Moving away from the above and I think people are simply reading too much into Joel plus ignoring how the rest of the House are reacting as well - including Jack.

We are in nowhere near the mess we were in when labour left no money left in the coffers and we are better off than most countries and out of the recession. Even other countries are asking Osbournes advice so they can't be as bad as you say!!!!!

At the end of Labour's tenure the country was in growth. Osborne choked it off for the following four years and lost our triple A credit rating.
You're basing your idea that there was no money left solely on a note left by Liam Byrne which was meant to be a joke. The Tories pounced all over it and you believed them.

Off topic but you *do* realise the banks got the country (and the entire western economy) in a mess don't you? Oh right, no you don't, because you blindly accept the version of events peddled by Cameron and his cronies. One can see why you'd like Joel, then.

(PS, we're in more debt now than we ever were under Labour)
Yep. Osborne borrowed more in four years than Labour did in thirteen.

That is excellent perception and a great description IMO. Well put.

As evidenced in the task yesterday - Joel is totally self centred - I think he has worked away trying to expose the others. He became worse after Mark and Helen came into the house telling him how wonderful he was and to keep on doing the same. I never liked him but those two weeks where he was so often sat between mummy and daddy with that smug (little Prince) look on his face really sealed the deal for me.

After the excrutiating/cringey political posturing about how 'I will not be responsible for a killer nomination' including the obligatory and well rehearsed hand gestures I find myself wanting to stick my foot through the telly whenever I see his self satisfied/smug face looking back at me.

You and me both.

Well considering Joel has never been bothered about the money and Jack and Chloe always have and even Cristian come to that, the jealousy isn't from Joel!
For someone who is 'not bothered about the money' he has been by far the most vocal (just in the diary room) about how ALL and ANY money should remain in the prize fund for just one winner. (I can see why he's a tory - let's not share any of the wealth eh?)

Absolute tripe. We had eighteen f***ing years of our schools and public services being neglected. with kids being taught in portacabins with buckets in the aisles to catch the leaks, and hospital buildings no longer fit for purpose. Labour had to put this right one way or another. They also had to bail out the banks when the crash came. If they hadn't, pensions, savings and jobs would've been lost, and businesses would've folded.
The idea that Labour CAUSED the GLOBAL crash is absolutely ludicrous.
Stands up and claps.

Yes but is Jack getting more than his fair share?
Not from Joel. Danny and Chloe on the other hand

Talk about blatant sensationalism and overdramatization!

Joel might be quirky, but he isn't a bully or a creep. He's just a young guy joking around with friends. Fact is it's more Chloe who keeps making snidey remarks about Jack and Cristian because she sees them as easy, soft targets.

Chloe particularly, has Danny been that bad in regards to the cash? Other than take the case we haven't seen Joel say or do anything in relation to the money and he clearly states he didn't begrudge Jack taking the money in the Diary Room. I don't think any action since has been anything other than tongue in cheek. Or intended that way, anyway.

[quote=yogacats;78965262]There is a subtlety here ... (although many on this forum don't understand/do subtlety ... but hey ho.)

Jack is supposed to keep the case within a metre of him and they know it. The point is, there was a chance, a slim chance, that Jack could have it taken back off him, and that was what was at the root of it. Sorry, that's my opinion, and I judge it on the bitterness and jealousy of Chloe and the smugness and self importance of Joel.[/QUOTE
I agree Chloe is that and so is Joel,

Then we had thirteen fxxxing years of Labour who brought in tax credits which have ballooned to £30 billion and helped employers pay their staff low wages as the state made up the difference. Then don't get me started on PFI were new hospitals and schools were built by private companies and we the taxpayers will be paying back the debt plus interest for the next 20 years - which is "off the books" by the way.
Any way this isn't about politics - it's about the best housemate - which is Joel imo

Im old enough to remember that the country has always been in growth under Labour only for the Tories to undo it all. Giving it to their rich patrons.

BTW in 2010 when two parties came in to save the country - borrowing UNDER LABOUR had swelled to over £150 billion - even with the cuts we are still borrowing £75 billion this year. So what would Labour had done instead? Cut less? Borrow more? BOTH probably..

I think it is more that she sees them as being greedy money grabbers.

That would be pretty ironic coming from money hungry Chloe.

It would be even more ironic if she had actually pressed her buzzer and tried to pocket the money for herself. It would seem that she is not as money hungry as some people think.

She's conceited enough to believe she's a winner, and after the fall out from her last cash grab she knew that pressing the buzzer would seriously damage her chances of winning. It's just more evidence of her greedy nature.

I've addressed this to you before minxymoo.. those of us that don't like or appreciate Joel as a hm, should not be classed as pathetic or other pejorative words you have used. Moreover, would love to know what YOU mean by "clutching at straws". Do tell. Thanks

I find this thread quite far reaching tbh - nothing I've seen of Joel, even during his worst moments, could come close to being classified as "bullying".

They've been about for quite a while - I've enjoyed immensely contributing to them - I love trying to find a new adjective to describe the slimy, smug little creep.

Obsequious is quite a good one that I haven't used as yet.

Haven't all of the HM's had derogatory threads made about them during the run of this series? Why should Joel be the exception?

It is (IMO) very odd that most of the Joel fans seem to think that it's unjust or unfair - we all have our favourites and those that we dislike but the defence of Joel has been rather odd.

well here we go.the op has accused joel of being a bully and creep .I find both those accusations to have no substance .I dont know which show she-he is watching clearly a different one to me.the reference to them clutching at straws refers to their rather clumsy attempt to discredit joel.
