Absolutely fantastic! Best episode I think we've had under Blackburn. Great to see the Barlows bring up old wounds, discuss them and finally put them to rest etc. I cannot wait to see the new direction they are taking Tracy, that two dimensional villain has finally gone I hope, Tracy has really flourished under Blackburn IMO. I was cheering Tracy on when se was sticking up for herself, if anything Peter has caused Deirdre just as much stress as Tracy. Kate Ford was awesome last night, as was Chris Gascoyne.

The reminiscing in the Rovers was done really well, all the men and women Ken and Deirdre have had in their lives over the years. But my favourite scene was the one in the bogs with Audrey and Bev, so nice to see them forgive and forget after all these years.

Yes a very good episode, I have not watched Corrie over the past year or so because it's been so bad but last night was very good.

I commented to my son how good I thought the episode was last night and I'm so pleased to see that so many people thought the same .
It was everything that they have always done so well and a really fitting send off for a much loved character.
When you get an episode of that quality it does show up just how bad some of the recent stuff has been so I really hope that the CS powers that be read this forum and give us more episodes like this .

Turning Tracy into a killer and villain was a monumental error. For starters, it was totally implausible and far fetched for the character but also Kate Ford is clearly a nice person in real life and totally unsuited to the role of a hate filled sociopath : she's too soft and gentle for the role and she's having to deliver her ridiculous lines for the last few years through gritted teeth and it's simply not working. I think this is one of the main reasons she has come across as an unthreatening "panto villain".

Totally agree that it was best episode for a very long time. I think what would have made it even better is if it would have been just them 3 but I know corrie don't do that which is a shame. I do think the reason for Tracey's change is because corrie have finally realised there isn't anywhere to go with her so have used Dierdre's death as a chance to try something different. Let's hope they don't ruin the character completely like with Tina.

I haven't liked Deidre's funeral and exit at all.

Good to see the OP and others swallowing their pride admitting it was a great episode.

I found it cringeworthy I don't care that Deirdre has gone am glad actually.

It was very good episode, but in the longterm Corrie still has problems. Stuart Blackburn for a start.

But it's what her family wanted. The thought of someone passing away whilst sitting in the garden on a nice Summer's day and not having known a thing is the way to go, that's for sure.

I loved the way they dealt with the aftermath of the funeral last night, a fitting tribute. More of the same tonight please.

Last evening's episode was successful,not only for the great actors who were in it, but for the lame ones who weren't - Callum, Gemma, Sarah, Bethany and the sour-faced girl who lives in the Windass flat. Take note, Stuart Blackburn, and stick with a winning formula. .

That won't happen because they've got to utilize all those cast members to fill out all those episodes.

I think it's definetly the pressure from ITV and the digital age. It's all about keeping ratings up in this digital age, and big stunts and outlandish plots do that and bring in the casual viewers. I do like a good stunt I must admit, but you absolutely can't beat the powerful drama that comes out of a characters' living room.

I'm really excited to see the direction that Tracy's character goes in now, and if she changes in order for her daughter to be proud of her. And how will Amy turn out in the years to come? Will she be a mini Blanche in the making, will she make big enemies or will she go in a different direction completely?

I don't see Tracy changing to be honest. She may be okay for a few months, but she will revert to type.

And in my opinion Amy doesn't work as a Blanche type character, she just comes across another obnoxious soap brat.

I hope she does change, but we shall see!

I think Amy could only work as a Blanche type character as she gets a lot older and if she decides to grow old with the show.

Tracey is will change but she will never be a maria type character. I think corrie are giving her an happy ending with Robert.

They might have her change for a few months, but when they need a big storyline she will turn evil again.

I can see them turning Robert into a wrong 'un down the line.

Looking at the interview in may about her transformation. SB says we'll start to see the transformation of Tracey through him with his support and help so It sounds like it won't be straight away

Ken's acting has been brilliant.

TracyLuv has tried but I am not very impressed. Peter's acting was okay. But it looked as if he had just been handed the script.

Completely disagree, I thought that all three actors were brilliant on Wednesday. Actually, there wasn't one duff performance from any of the actors involved. Chris Gascoyne is probably one of the best actors the show has ever had, and I look forward to the day that he (hopefully) makes a full-time return to the show.

I agree that Tracy won't change. I do hope though that they make her less ridiculous. A lot of the time, she is more like someone that belongs in panto, the 'wicked witch' type of nonsense lines that she is given.
I'd like to see her rein in her sheer nastiness, especially at sad or difficult moments for others. Deirdre was always on hand to attempt to rein her in, when she revelled in other people's troubles.
I'd like to see her occasionally biting her lip, and turning away as though she remembers that Deirdre wouldn't have hurt someone deliberately ever, with a vile comment, for the sake of it.

Amy has her moments, like when she told Ken that she would look after him, but then reverted to bad mannered brat at the buffet table. Surely she would have some redeeming characteristics from being kind hearted Steve's child, and spending time with some of her extended family.

Really enjoyed Wednesday night's episode. It was the first time, in a long long time, that I found Tracy credible, as a character. I love Chris Gascoyne, and I second that, I really hope he will make a full-time return to the Street.

What worked particularly well, in my view, was that the scenes just moved between the Barlow house, and The Rovers. It felt like a fitting tribute to Deirdre / Anne, just having her old pals, and her family, and little or no intrusion from others, and most definitely no Callum / Platt nonsense.

C'mon scriptwriters, this was the best episode in a LONG time, if you can do it once, you can do it more often!

Have to agree, she was really excellent given again at last a realistic, substantial script to work with.
Loved her scenes with Ken and especially Peter and I knew it was going to work out with them but still had a bit of a tear in my eye at the end.
They all did a super job. Real vintage Corrie how it used to be.

I think every episode of Corrie has been brilliant this week....the acting from all the cast has been one hundred percent...though you could see the tears were for real and not acting..a sad occasion but Deirdre was given an excellent send off..

I still find Amy's sudden personality transplant utter crap. One minute she is a decent nice child but overnight became Tracy II overnight. Do we not have enough obnoxious annoying brats in the show?

Looking at Blanche in the 1970s she wasn't really a bitch and she seemed to get on fine with the regulars. It wasn't until she returned full time in 1999 and much older that she was acid tongued, but even Blanche had her softer moments. I don't recall her deliberately scheming and setting people up.
