I think they need to tread carefully when it comes to Amy's characterisation. At times she comes across as a funny and quick witted child- her scenes with Tracy and Brian a few weeks back were a prime example of this. On other occasions she can be quite disrespectful and brattish.

See the episodes have gone back to unbelievable nonsense - like the elderly Muslim Nazirs would accept the Gingernutjob as a husband for their precious Ayla. And fatface Anna's gurning is back, how I hate that woman and am at a loss why her contract has been renewed. Enjoying Dave Quinnan and his fury against rough old doris Leanne though. I thought his "boss" in the scene in the Rovers was the same bloke that first chatted up Liz and Erica in the Bistro? At least there was no Platts - hooray!

I agree with all this, Maria. At least we were spared the sullen girl who lives with Anna; hopefully she has left the show. Dave Quinnan is playing a great part.

VERY impressed with these episodes - and the funeral too. Loved Eileen's "Send In the Clowns" line, Tracy was outstanding - especially defending herself to Ken and Peter, drunk Emily, Bev and Audrey making up, Gail acting normal.
THIS is the Corrie I fell in love with - they proved they can still pull it out of the bag - it's a shame they can only muster it up for the death of a much loved character. It seems like they rest on their laurels the rest of the time. The writers need to keep this up - or ship out!
Congratulations Chris Fewtrell - excellent writing.

I thought the whole thing picked up no end when Peter arrived...

They really need to get the actor back cause he's great.

In general I think they did a good job with Deirdre's death. I know the response to the earlier episode's was "mixed" but I didn't think they was too bad, but the funeral and aftermath episode's were really good.

Considering how difficult it must have been for everybody involved, was a great job.

And Blackburn actually managed not to screw something up, which was amazing.

There were a lot of critics of the episodes leading up to Wednesday's, but for me there were more positives than negatives (namely any scenes that involved Camp Callum, simpering Sarah and boring Bethany).

I don't think bringing back Sarah and Bethany has improved the show and maybe they should be sent back to Milan.

Or simply give Sarah some backbone.
