They could see he was getting distressed but they all carried on regardless. That's not playful ribbing.

I said on another thread that bully was too strong a word for Joel but that was seriously getting uncomfortably close to it.

I think BB should have stepped in over the way they are acting - thy seem to think they are so good because they did not push the button.

If jack had punched him properly I bet he would have floored him - he is strong

Lord of the flies inevitably comes up every year with bb but more & more I'm just thinking jack/piggy jack/piggy this year. Really nasty edge to some of the things that have gone on.

GOOD God! What a po faced lot of people on DS. They have been having a laugh at jack with his money tied to his wrist. It's funny. They are ribbing him about "stealing" the money. Jack has no sense of humour and is so desperate for the money he fears it disappearing any minute. Id be laughing about it too. I think jack has attracted supporters who are as humourless as he is.

There's a line between ribbing and harassment and it generally starts at the point where it no longer becomes fun for the person who is the subject of it. He asked them to stop several times, they didn't.

As for being humourless, humour generally involves wit as far as I'm concerned and them trying to steal the case away from him for the umpteenth time lost any potential humour long ago through endless repetition. Sure, *they* found it funny but it was completely at Jack's expense. They were laughing at him, not with him, and that, in my book, is mean spirited.
