Got a phonecall a few weeks ago, offering me the free phone call service (all the time) on promotion. Now, I only spend a few pounds a month on my home phone (my mobile bill on the other hand.............) but the guy said it would cost me £3 a month for the first 3 months and then be £5 (I have the 2Mb line). Seemed like it was worth a try but I got the bill and suprise, suprise I was charged £9 for the month that I had the service and billed a further £9 for the month to come. Obviously I phoned them up and cancelled the service but they deny all knowledge of ever offering me the promotional prices. Anyone else get a similar phone call?

if you've got a 2Mb line, it should only be £7 a month anyway so someone has done something wrong. I'd phone them up again and complain.

Not sure why they told you the wrong price, but if you make few phone calls you should take the free evening and weekend package. It doesn't cost any more than your regular subscription and you get cheap calls to mobiles and int'l--as well as free 01/02 calls every evening and all weekend. I took it and it cut my phone bill a lot!

Cheers In_The_Know. That is actually what the HC CS dude said, to his credit, so I did. I'm just annoyed that some salesman, obviously on commision, is quite happy to tell me BS to get his 50 pence. I guess I am just annoyed that I have to check EVERY bill from pretty much EVERY utility company and end up phoning someone at LEAST once a month because nobody ever seems to be able to get a bill correct...........but don't get me started on that!

I signed up for the half price phone calls in January and was billed the normal £9 rate until I complained. Now been told i will get a rebate of future bills!! I don't know about anybody else but i find it extremely anoying that companies such as HC fail to properly log promotional discounts to your account and then rely on us to spend half an hour explaining to them when and how we had obtained such a discount. Poor service, Poor PR and a poor programming. HC need to raise their game
