One Plus 2 Phone
With this phone just around the corner has anyone seen any leaks about it? Also how do you actually get an invite? I have heard good things about this and wouldn't mind the ability to at least consider buying, but it seems you need an invite to buy from them.

Some information has been officially released like Snapdragon 810, 4GB RAM, 13MP camera, USB type C, under $450, dual sim, full European LTE support, WiFi calling being worked on, fingerprint scanner.

They are still going to run an invitation lead sales process. Apparently many more will be available compared to the launch of the previous device. Being honest any company than runs a stupid system as that don't deserve my money. I would rather spend on a device that I can get my hands on fairly swiftly even if there is a few day wait.
The last phone came with some issues regarding screen tint/color and battery. Returning it is a nightmare as you have to send it back to mainland China at your own expense. They don't appear to have a European partner to support the phone is this market. They are an indrect brand of Oppo, who manage to release phones here and support them, god even Huawei can manage it. I don't buy the bullshit excuse of using invites to measure demand, your phone is either going to sell or it isn't. Keeping this so called VIP system runs counter to the normal way, word of mouth or advertising. The specs of the handset look epic kudos to them for it. Until they develop a proper distribution system in America and Europe they will do as shit as they were last time. |

Well I'd say limiting supply did sort of pay off for them, I had friends who thought they were exclusive owning the phone and people were often asking for invites.
Oneplus has got better, they started of shipping phones with Chinese power adapters and illegal UK converters but that eventually changed. What many people didn't realise that the Oneplus One was a slightly lesser Oppo Find 7a with Cyanogen, things will probably be a little different this time as the Oneplus two is being announced first but I don't think I'll personally buy it before I've seen the next Oppo Find and maybe the Nexus 5 2015 |

Oneplus has been stunningly successful in promoting its self on next to no budget. All my usual podcasts and all my news feeds have been full of the specs of this device as they drip feed details. Which is why I am amazed at the premise of this thread?
Not sure if i will try and get one or wait for the (hopefully) Huawei Nexus. The Nexus is guaranteed to have full Cm support and all custom ROMs "just work". I don't know the same can be said of the 2. |

LOL, I doubt that would have gone down well with their old fashioned sexist attitudes
.I don't think this woman jumped the queue either ![]() http://cdn1.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chor...besexist.0.jpg In light of that however, I do hope OnePlus do improve their marketing strategy this time around. The invite system and that infamous ad campaign was a cluster f**k of monumental proportions. What frustrates me is that they are an indrect brand of Oppo who have managed to setup a strong distribution system with partners in Europe and America. I should also add they release models of their phones which are broadly compatible with most European 4G networks (800/1800/2600). Oneplus Two may change that, given they are using SD 810 V2.1 it might end up that way. Everything on paper looks brilliant but as the saying goes the devil is in the detail. Giving this will attract a higher price due to component costs, I should expect it will support a broader range of frequencies. |
