It's not insecure and this is what annoys me about the liberal world we live in now. It's moved from ''accept me for the way I am'' to vilifying everyone who does not practise the same openness.

I don't think he's insecure at all ,and like you say it's because of his age he's so self conscious .
He's said himself he's a really sensitive person and can't take jokes aimed at him
He was probably concerned by Joel's motives after all his reasons for Cristian getting into his bed were a bit flaky and pointless. It's clear Joel has a crush on Cristian and while there's nothing wrong in that it is uncomfortable watching when the attraction is not reciprocated as has been the case in past BB's.

It was harmless last night, but after hearing that Jistian/Croel had become a "thing" outside he just became self-conscious and for a second distanced himself.
It proves he must have grown in there to have ignored the doubts and slept next to Joel, especially in reflection to how he was night 1!

I don't think he's insecure, I just wish they hadn't let that vile fan insinuate that Joel fancied Cristian. Had a feeling something like that would be included.
I thought it was very creepy of Joel to pester Cristian knowing how obliging he is. They are all aware of the cameras. Cristian didn't want o look like it bothered him.

Cristian should have just agreed to sleep in Joel's bed with him as long as no funny business started happening. If Joel started being immature and childish, Cristian could then have got up and then went back to his own bed.
