Hmm tuned into Hollyoaks for the first time tonight and was only thinking what a great actor she was.....shame.

A mixed bag of feelings by the twitterers too, most are outraged but some are pleased she's gone.

some people seem to think Diane can't survive without Sinead when infact these two characters moved away from each other more noticeably in the last few years, people can say what they want about Bryan Kirkwood and I'm annoyed with him and the show recently as much as the next person but BK was Diane and Alex Fletcher's saving grace, she was nothing more than a background character before BK took over and since he did she has really come into her own and has become a strong independent character like she deserved to be, Alex is a great actress and Sinead loving will be no loss or misfortune to her

As for Sinead and Steph like many others I was never a fan of the character but it is a shock seeing one of the "golden girls" being dropped liked that, but no one character is bigger than the show and the show will go on just fine

I imagine Diane will soon be housing a teenage long lost relative/long lost child/waif and stray à la Jack and Frankie.

I wonder how they'll exit the character? offscreen death or leaves the village? May go down the route of having her go missing

Hope it doesn't effect the rest of her career because she's a great actress.

On her Twitter account it seems that the last tweets showing up are from last year. So I assume she has deleted a bulk of tweets from this year.

What is really going on? It has to be some pretty serious stuff.

Whatever it is I feel it is probably a bigger issue than time keeping. Does anyone remember seeing a Hollyoaks documentary years ago when Roxanne McKee won the role of Louise aling with a couple of others? One of the things we saw was it being explained to them as they signed their contracts that any bad timekeeping resulted in the person being fined due to the costs of filming, time lost, scheduling etc. With this in mind I feel the issue with SD is something more serious if it has resulted in an immediate dismissal, especially when she has just agreed to a new contract. It may be wrong to suggest, but BK has always given me the impression he can be quite vindictive if you fall out of favour with him for any reason. For all we know he has maybe taken umbridge to something she has said or done and axed her as revenge.

Her instagram account has at times left her general conduct a lot to be desired, but no more than any other celebrity or soap star. She often comes across as being incredibly vain with an over-inflated sense of her own importance, but they aren't sackable offences lol.

I won't be sorry to see Sinead go. To be honest she should have been binned off years ago. They'll probably have her buggering off with some bloke and leaving Ste holding the baby lol.

The guy got a high opinion of himself, he's open to slagging of people and other shows, so this isn't new.

I don't want to speculate like everyone else but, I've never seen a soap realise a press statement to be so blunt, it's like their asking for trouble or speculation (more ten time keeping presumptions) giving out a press realise like that! No doubt something will come out in the following days.


She's only been in it since 2010 so that's 5 years, the shows been going on since 1995 so she's not that long been in it. There's loads of other characters who are considered 'longest serving characters' Tony, Darren, Jack, Frankie, Tom, Mercedes, Nana, Theresa ect and Sinead is not one of them at all.


Yes she used to go out with the guy who plays Freddie but now the guy who plays Freddie is in a relationship with the lady who plays Grace!

This is unusual as the tabloid story will obviously follow AFTER. She must have done something atrocious, though presumably not criminal....as an arrest/police questioning would have been reported by now
