I agree. I know it's natural for surrogates to feel a bond or connection with the baby they're carrying but it find it selfish and inconsiderate how is Esther is just going to refuse to hand over the baby considering how she knows how much Grace and Trevor have wanted a family and how much this means to them. She should have thought more carefully about the decision to become a surrogate of she knew she couldn't handle it.
Plus even if Esther had formed a bond with the baby, it's not like the minute she handed over the baby to Grace and Trevor she would never see it again. Esther and Grace were really good friends and Grace wouldn't have been the type of person to cut the baby completely out of Esther's life the minute she gave birth. You hear stories all the time about mothers and the surrogate still being apart of the baby's life as it grows up.
I hate the way soaps portray surrogacy's sometimes. Yes, the surrogates can bond and feel emotions with the baby. That's natural but I hate how when they give birth the surrogates are sometimes portrayed as selfish. Like they just think. 'I've given birth to this baby, I like it and I'm going to keep it.'
