So it turns out she was sacked for being drunk on set?!! No wonder half the cast were pissed off with her, if she couldn't perform, and scenes were halted or rescheduled to her behaviour, then it impacts them and their schedule.

Exactly, that is how I feel about it too.

I can well see how frustrating and annoying it would be for other cast mates to see somebody 'getting away' with unprofessional behaviour, especially if it was actually impacting on their work. I don't blame them for being glad that it has caught up with her and theu will no longer be inconvenienced by it.

But, i think it is something they should have kept between themselves, rejoicing (if that is the right word) privately. Not plastering it across Social Media.

In the same situation, it would be one thing to speak one on one with a colleague to say we were pleased somebody had gone, another to get a loud hailer, stand on the chair in a Public venue and announce it for everybody there to hear and pass on.

I think with Sutton, if it were just this one incident it might not be as remarked upon but it is the latest in a long line of rather nasty tweets.

I do remember Laura Burns. I also remember that she got the job via the 'Hollyoaks on the Pull' campaign in '2000 which also cast the characters Izzy Cornwell, Ben Davies & Theo Sankofa.”

I didn't watch at the time but apparently he played the college caretaker.I don't think it was a major role and he wasn't in it long but I remember him launching a scathing attack on Hollyoaks a few years ago descibing his time on the show as hell on earth and that only 20% of the people were nice and that it was a breeding ground for pricks.

Bit of an idiot to be tweeting what he did
But i hear the Hollyoaks cast are not even that kind anyway. All very up themselves who think they are god's gift to acting. I think it's hysterical James Sutton runs him own acting classes, when he is the one in dire need of them.

I can't speak on Stephanie's sacking, but Devon Anderson's axe from both Hollyoaks & Eastenders was probably justified. I knew the guy back in the day since we both went to the same Theatre school and after his first stint at Eastender's, he treated other peers like they were nothing. You'd see him on the stairwells chatting to his friends but anyone outside of that circle? Nothing, and he had a terrible attitude. Very cocky, very full of himself & an altogether very unpleasant person. I can only imagine how difficult he must've been to actually work with in a professional field.

I don't think he should have tweeted that dig at Steph, but I have heard that he's lovely to fans. He gets tweeted at times by fans asking him to stop & meet them outside Lime if he's working that day & he says no problem he'll be happy to. Also, the actor who played Vincent said he made him feel very welcome when he started.

It's a shame!!

I did read about 3 months ago on DS from someone claiming to be an extra on the show, who said that one of the cast, I think it was Jessica Metcalfe called them ornaments.

Yeah he comes across as bit of a **** on twitter but I once met him and Sammy Winward outside a bar in Leeds and both were really nice. He made a joke about us making a really cute couple. I was with my sister!

Thanks Craig!!

Did you tell him she was your sister? LOL

It's actually refreshing to hear a nice story about him on here.

I did, he said 'oh in that case, is she single?' Cue a dirty look from then GF Sammy Winward (it wasn't common knowledge they were dating at the time).

My sister added him on Facebook and he messaged her saying it was lovely to meet her. She was dead chuffed!

He isn't that bad a guy, I think he just jumps in feet first on twitter and thinks about it later and probably regrets half of it, hence deleting a lot of stuff.

It's good to hear some nicer stuff about James. Not that it makes the other stuff ok, but I'm glad to hear there's a better side to him.

As others have said, it's understandable that colleagues of SD may have found her difficult to work with, and may well be glad to see the back of her, but to say so publicly is inadvisable.

That was really nice of him.

I agree with you about him jumping in feet first. He really should have kept his thoughts about Steph off twitter instead of throwing shade. He has filmed quite a bit with her recently & I think he must have become very frustrated about possibly being kept waiting. Stuff having to be rescheduled because of her etc.

From what I've now heard Steph got into an altercation when she turned up drunk at Lime (I'm not sure who with) & was sent home. Then Bryan Kirkwood went to her home in Mersyside & sacked her there.

I also think James has a sense of humour not everyone gets. He does like to banter & some comments people may find offensive or insensitive are him joking. Sometimes he goes to far, realises how it may look & deletes. Considering that his tweet about Steph made the papers, I wouldn't be surprised if he's told off about it at work on monday.

This reminds me of people who hide behind the excuse of telling it like it is to be and being honest to be as vile and rude about others as they possibly get. I don't think James has a sense of humour that not everyone gets, but rather that he is a prima donna with a puffed up sense of his own importance. At the end of the day, even if he disliked Stephanie, he should've kept his trap shut and not posted anything on social media.

Some of these so-called celebs should remember that Twitter is not their personal secret diary but a forum where people can read their posts and come to their own conclusions about them.

I remember James in it and I remember him speaking out about the show many years later. He felt like his character was one big fat joke for the writers. In the eyes of the producers over weight = ugly and that is how his character was written and he was embarrassed by it.

Probably right, A lot of posters dissing him here as if they have never done/said something then later regretted it or meant it in a different way than it was taken.

I did think that steph must have turned up drunk and therefore violent/rude to cast and crew and that would have led to her sacking.

I do think he tries to be funny with some tweets that people find offensive & were not purposely malicious & meaning to hurt. I've read some in the past & did find some humorous. For example he was having banter with a mate about the footie & some people got offended by it. Having said that, he should not have publically had a dig at Steph which was unnecessary & would have been hurtful to her when she found out & he definitely was throwing shade & now everyone knows he's glad she's been sacked. I was disappointed by it.

You are right that some people do say vile & rude things nastily & purposely to hurt & think it's OK because they say they were just being honest. I hate that.

I don't know James personally, so I do tend to take stuff & rumours said on social media with a pinch of salt. Some people like yourself may think he's a self important Prima Donna. He could be, but as I don't know him, I don't cast my opinion in stone as I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt.

PS/ James didn't say he was just being honest, althought he did make a dig at Steph on twitter & shouldn't have.

maybe by some sort of curse or spell they are actually turning into their characters the longer they act them out on screen... they are already sleeping with everyone else, next they will be kidnapping each other in real and plotting against them
