iPod Classic to Car - no aux.

Hey,

I have an iPod classic, that I would like to be able to play music from through my car speakers. However my car is 12 years old, and doesn't have an aux connection. Too new for a cassette player, so I have a CD drive - I can't get one of those adaptors that look like a cassette tape either though!

How would I go about doing this?

You can get a small FM transmitter which means you can pick up the iPod on your radio.

I have a Griffin iTrip which uses the Dock Connector rather than the headphone socket. The dock connector sends the audio at a set level. The headphone jack sends the audio at whatever level the iPod was last listened to. I found that (having had both types) the dock connector was better in the car and for my ears afterwards.

I always found that I had to have the volume quite high to get a decent sound on the car radio through the headphone jack, and i always managed to deafen myself when I forgot to turn it down when using it with headphones afterwards.

If you got for a Griffin iTrip, make sure you get one with a charging cable as well. It plugs into the side of the iTrip. On long journeys you can then keep the music going without draining the iPod. The iTrip does work without the charging cable.
