He wasn't edited to look gay, he was shown indulging in the things he enjoys doing, cross dressing etc, which many heterosexual teens do.

yes the editing was very "tight"
less than 3% of the days events were really shown on tv each day (remember even then a lot of tv time was diary room talking heads of what they saw happen too)
but aaron and others felt they got the "wrong signals" from him... so... the dit was of a camp kid who likes his pop music which has a stereotype... dont blame the viewer if they assume the stereotype - it is how people "quickly read the world around them" and it is up to the person sending the signals to expand on their meaning.

Yeah that video of me having sex with some guy is just edited to make me look gay because I was in fact just going for a walk and when I accidentally tripped all my clothes fell off and my penis accidentally slipped up his bum. As many gay people will tell you, declaring your heterosexuality is often the prelude to coming out. Joe McElderry did it. Stephen Gateley did it. Elton John and George Michael did it. FFS Boy George said he preferred tea to sex specifically to pose as asexual as oposed to gay.
Joel is 19, he probably has a long way to go before he is sure. Some people don't come out until thwir 70s.
