The only thing about this that is confusing me is Leanne claiming her and Liz are mates, since when? I don't recall them ever speaking to each other much.

I didn't think they were particularly good mates either. And it didn't ring true that Lizard would even notice Leanne was put out, never mind be so insistent about following it up.
