BT Registration
I bought a second hand BT T2100 youview box and cannot get it to connect to the Internet. It connects to the router but then fails at the Internet stage. I have checked the Ethernet cable and rebooted the router and rest the youview box a number of times.
I phoned BT who were so unhelpful and told me that they could give me no support as I did not buy the box from them. What I want to know is does the box need to be registered for it to connect to the Internet. And if it does and I can get no support from BT is it just going to be a freeview box that has little use to me as I have both Sky and a Tuner on my TV. I only wanted it for BT sports. Please help.

That said the box you bought should still be able to connect to the internet to access BBC iPlayer and other catch up services. That it does not could be down to the router you are using or the way it is set up. |

To do that with a Youview box you would need to subscribe to a BT broadband package and to a BT TV package which would have included them sending you a Youview box.

That it does not could be down to the router you are using or the way it is set up. It reconises the router but then doesn't connect to the internet. It comes up with a fault code that refers to cables. I use the same ethernet cable in my Amazon box so I know that works OK. Maybe a dodgy box I bought. |

Youview box should connect to the internet with any broadband provider. I am with Virgin but I connect my Youview box with ethernet cable to Virgin router. I can get all the free On demand channels. Not sure what you mean by "registered". I set the box up with my postcode but that is all.
Check your settings.Press blue then go through the various settings. |
