I wasn't really watching EE last year. Why is Ben running from the police? What was he up to on the night of Lucy's murder.

Really stupid, talk about making yourself look more guilty than you need to be. Surely if Phil and the Mitchell's have learned anything over the years with their dealings with Walford police, its that you shouldn't make yourself look like you are running away because of guilt.

Ben and Jay were involved in some robbery soon after ben was released from prison. Ben was desperate for money to get away from Walford so he mugged Lucy and stole her phone and purse.
